Kate Hudson reportedly dumped Owen Wilson earlier this summer, a move that was said to leave the actor devastated. Therefore, it is understandable that his family is trying to keep the blond away from him.
A source close to Hudson says that her attempts to send regards have been rebuffed by Wilson's camp.
"Kate has been trying to get in touch with Owen and is distraught that the family doesn't want her anywhere near him," says a pal. "She is very frustrated. [Owen's family members] don't think Kate is good for him."
Well, the fact that Hudson already has a new boyfriend - Dax Shepard - doesn't make things any better.
Hopefully Owen's family knows best!

Kate was very young when she married and had kids. She's now single, & probably a bit lonely having had someone around all the time while married, and thus deserves and ought to explore her options in a mate. No one but she and Owen know his contributions to their break up. If she is trying to communicate with him, then that is a nice olive branch to extend out of concern and caring, even if it is rebuffed by his family; at least she may have tried to reach out to him out of concern, and the thought that she might be able to aid his healing in some way was probably foremost in her and her family's eyes. No one wants to think that they may have unknowingly contributed to another's pain; but ultimately a suicide attempt is a poor decision made during stress, and cannot ever be blamed on anyone other than the decision maker. Both Kate and Owen need quiet empathy, not judgement. I, for one, am glad he didn't succeed. It may be a watershed moment for him. He's a very fun, intelligent and twinkly actor to watch.

I feel for Owen, but he knew Kate was a married woman when he started with her. He was asking for trouble by getting involved with her.
