Britney didn't under perform because she was anxious about Sarah Silverman making fun of her kids. She chose to go on after she supposedly heard the rehearsal monologue. Honestly, if you decide to wear your bra and underpants on tv, you should do some crunches. Apparently she has no shame. I don't understand how she could have fucked up her life so badly. She was on top of the industry, and had a killer body (arguably the whole reason she was so popular). All she had to do was maintain. I'm glad everyone is being so harsh on her. She needs it. I hope she learns a lesson from this. Just because she's the legendary "Britney Spears" she feels she has the right to get up on stage and try to feed us shit. Fuck no.

Wow, Perez that letter was harsh! Give Britney a break. Its her first time back on stage in front of a huge live audience. It must have been nerve wrecking and those Sarah Silverman's comments about her children weren't helping. Maybe Britney was discourage after learning that Sarah would be making fun of her and her children. Overall, I thought Britney's performance was as horrible as people are saying. With time and practice, she'll get there.

Celebrities open themselves up to criticism and jokes by the very nature of their celebrity… Britney has ALWAYS been a joke so Sarah Silverman's comments should be no different than any other night. Brit should have sucked it up, gone out there and used the opportunity to put on the comeback she was hoping for. Instead, she let a 2-bit comic be her excuse for failure and the world was forced to witness yet another trainwreck by this lost soul. So, so sad.
I think the real problem is that she is not a great singer, she used to be a great performer, so people ignored the fact that her singing sucks. This performance can hardly even be called a performance, there was no fire, no energy at all. If she was pissed about supposedly finding out someone was talking smack about her kids, I'd think she'd be angry and fucking bring a little fire to her performance, channel some of that energy. But no, it was dead, and maybe her career if she keeps this up.
Isn´t this what everyone was expecting to see, people love to see stars to fall.

STOP with all the excuses about why her performance was bad…"Sarah Silverman said bad things about her kids…, yada, yada, yada" WHO CARES what some stupid comedian says! This was her one HUGE shot at making a comeback and proving to the world that she's getting her shit together once and for all, and all she did with this "performance" was prove why everyone talks so negatively about her all the time. She looked so disinterested in being there, it was like she didn't care to perform at all, and she shouldn't have if THAT is the crap we got. She used to be an amazing dancer and performer, not so much a singer, but she couldn't even fake that good tonight. I was SOOO rooting for her to blow everyone away, but I now agree with the critics. It's time for her to retire!
