Sad and dissapointing. I really wanted her to totally prove everyone wrong, but it really does seem that she is too far gone. Some say "Give her a break, she hasn't performed in a few years, blah blah…" Actually, she has done several live (well, lipsynch'd) secrat shows at the House of Blues recently, so I don't buy that escuse. She went out there unprepared, and she should have known better. She's been performing for years, she knows what she needs to do to get ready to perform live, shit, how many tours has she done? She could have called it off if she'd wanted to. The track isn't bad, but unless the video is killer, I am not looking forward to watching the slow disintegration of her album release. She actually looked better than I thought she would, despite other posters remarking on how "fat" she was. What, does every woman have to have a Kate Moss body with Pam Anderson tits? Someone needs to save her life. As for Sara Silverman's remarks, have any of you seen her act before? MTV knew what they were getting when they hired her. Remember the year Chris Rock hosted and insulted nearly all the performers/presenters that year? For the first time I am actually sad for Britney. Her career is pretty much over after this atrocious "performance." The song was droning and dull, she walked lifelessly and aimlessly around the stage and the lip-synching was nonexistent. The backup dancers were so much more into it. She needs to just retire from showbiz for a while, make up with her mom and go back to Louisiana and raise her boys and stay away from LA and Vegas for at least 10 years.

I have never been a fan of Brittney (or contemporary pop music as a whole) but I figured it would be good for a laugh to find this video the day after. This is the only day of this year that Brittney will work and I'd go as far as to say that the McDonalds staff that painstakingly assembles her double quarter pounder value meal puts more love and sweat into their job than Brittney ever has. Britney threatened to ditch her VMA performance just minutes before she took the stage. Britney overheard Sarah Silverman rehearsing her monologue in which she calls Britney's babies mistakes and takes jab after jab.
Britney made it very clear with MTV that Sarah was NOT allowed to talk about her kids, and MTV agreed. Sam Lufti (VMA producer) was overheard backstage screaming at Sarah Silverman because of her outrageous remarks saying: "Sarah Silverman is a seriously unprofessional person to make fun of infants to get a laugh." Perhaps this why Britney looked upset during her performance. Britney was seen backstage in Alli's arms crying about how cruel people can be to her babies. While it is Silverman's job to get a laugh, it should not be at the expense of little babies. Britney Spears was to perform under the magic of Chris Angel..but MTV freaked out at the last minute finding out what Britney was actually going to do. Supposedly, what Britney and Chris were planning was to do a set of mirrors and flotation. But when told to the Palms they flipped. Insurance!!, and the stage couldn't support the performance. MTV also freaked at the last minute because of their fear of being "too controversial" Britney and Chris were infact furious with MTV's sad excuse, they told Britney to change the performance at the last minute. Britney's original performance was to infact appear and disappear. To float through the air… and for much mature dancing

You see her face at the start when the crowd start cheering, She is overcome with a sense of "WELCOME BACK" and at that point the nerves get the better of her…

She gets it together at most points in the performance, My Favorite is When she grabs tht dancers Ball Sack!!

This could've been great and I haven't listened to britney spears since her first album but I was looking forward to a great comeback and she ruined it (trick!!!!!!!!!!!!!). If she doesn't care then why should any of her soon to be former fans

I don't blame the crappy performance.. she didn't have much to work with with a shitty song like that. Did anyone notice it basically had no verses, just "gimme more"?? Pretty craptastic. But yeah, she didn't try. And all these news stories that say she was "painfully out of shape"… um, hello!! She LOOKS good. She shouldn't necessarily be strutting around in her glitter lingerie set, but she looks good for a mom of two.
