Rosie O'Donnell is dropping her new memoir, Celebrity Detox, next month and she does not mince her words when it comes to talking about Barbara Walters.
Addressing her former boss in the book, Rosie says, "And Barbara. At some point, a person gets tired. It's inevitable," the New York Post reports. Barbara Walters is almost twice my age. At some point it becomes necessary to step back. Everyone has to go. Going is part of the gig."
O'Donnell goes on to add, "I would be less-than-honest if I were to say that there is no trouble between Barbara and I. I mean, our differences are obvious."
What lead to the tension between Rosie and Barbara? Jealousy, O'Donnell alleges.
Rosie say that during commercial breaks on The View, audience members would sometimes shout out, "I love you, Rosie" – "and Barbara politely tells them in a schoolteacher tone, 'It is impolite to say I love you to one person when there are four of us up here.' "
For her part, Walters is avoiding discussing O'Donnell's book in detail.
Asked for comment, Barbara has said, "Rosie sent me the book with a note telling me how much she loved me. I have read the book – and I would like to concentrate on the love that she sent."

Rosie is giving all the proceeds to charity from this book. She has the best blog on the internet. She has a fierce group of fans that triple love her. She is being honest about what she felt happened in the last year while on the View.
Just because is is loud don't mean she's wrong. Go to her blog and check it out. She is on there once a day. Maybe you will reach her. She answers questions you ask. My opinion.
What I liked about Rosie was she was clear on what she has said in the past on practically any topic. I love the way she will clear up someone who misquotes her….she has a sharp wit and memory and she thinks rationally. I respect her for not being a hypocrite and playing down a public time in her life and having the respect to give Barbara advance notice. It is her opinion, and no one is being asked to take it as their own. Go head Rosie.
As for The View post Rosie, it's too timid. Everyone has to agree. And I can't stand Elisabeth H..she is annoying and secretly believes that her opinion is the only one that counts. I rarely watch now. Havent' seen Sherri yet but she is probably capable of adding some oomph.

It's just a day time talk show but it's one that people can't stop talking about. I mean does anyone even remember jenny jones and sally jesse? good shows but they didn't stir up the shit like this. Oh please! Barbara Wawa is a self absorbed, narcissistic, snooty, cheap, pain in the ass jew bag who NEEDS to give it up. Rosie might be out of line for saying it but you know it's true. In typical Jew fashion Barbara name drops and acts like she's better than everyone else she uses this affected accent when telling us her tired stories about her political gaffes as the only woman in broadcasting etc. Barbara was a trailblazer but only because she is a pain in the ass jew who doesn't give up. Why would anyone watch a show where women are all talking over each other? I watched 1 time and it gave me a headache. That show sucks the big one! It was worse than an AL-Anon meeting!

I have watched The View since it started. Barbara is definetly the worst part of the show. She thinks that she is so important and that everyone should bow down to her. However, I also feel that the way Rosie left the show last season was so cowardly and that people would have way more respect for her if she just would have finished her contract and went away gracefully. I was so proud of EH when she stuck up for herself when Rosie was attacking her. My final thought is that The View would be so over if they lost Joy Behar!

Rosie is very down to Earth, goes up to audience members, snaps pics & autographs in between commercials - especially with kids.
She is the show - She says what she feels - even if it upsets some… I'd rather watch REAL people….
Rosie is a liar! during commercials, the cast members either go backstage or briefly address the audience. If the audience said 'I love you' to Rosie ,like she claimed, Barbara and the rest of the cast were too proper to give their opinion. Barbara has no reason to be jealous of Rosie; her career in journalism speaks for itself. That shows you how immature Rosie is, that she still has to take it on a personal level and attempt to destroy another human being's life. Let it go Rosie, I still remember how you used to behave back stage. Scary!
The View is an ensemble show. If she thought about it, I'm sure Rosie might understand and care that if people kept yelling 'I love you, Rosie' out of support for whatever feud she might be embroiled in at the time or support regarding whatever, she might realize this constant singling out might marginilize the other hosts and cause them to feel less significant, and could create an atmosphere of quiet and unequal resentment.
I simply see Barbara as a good & thoughtful show director who is attempting to ensure and nurture feelings of equality and relevancy amongst each female host, and thus a good and productive atmosphere, which would lend to the shows continued longevity. I'd bet Barbara was thinking of the others, and the show, and not herself here; she is the consumate professional. After all, the show was not about Rosie. She knowingly signed on to join an ensemble.
come on folks - Rosie is was and always will be a pig. She has no credibility. She has no class. She's just a freak show that some people won't let die.
rosie needs to shut her fat dumb ass mouth. this is by no means a memoir, its a hate book. she seems to love to find the faults of others and call them out on it, but what i wonder is does she see her faults? i think her opening her pie whole to other peoples mistakes helps her feel better because shes such a screw up.

Since when does having to be right or having to hold forth on your opinions matter more than another's feelings and dignity? One of the worst things you can do in life is to make someone regret having cared about you.
Barbara's response was evolved and caring, & designed to not hurt Rosie irregarding herself, and this will haunt Rosie when she gets older when or if she comes to understand.

Charity begins at home, and should above all be extended first to the people in your life who have helped and influenced you, and then to strangers. The book may succeed in bringing charity to strangers, but at the expense of some people who have been close and of value in her life. What a lesson.
I think some of that anger should instead be directed at a therapist. There are a lot of things in this world that should not and do not need to be said publicly.
If Rosie learned diplomacy, she could still get her points across productively without offending, and could be a real tour-de-force. Diplomacy is a massive skill, one of the last acquired as one matures, and many never accomplish it. Barbara is a master from years of interviewing to get the answers without her subject stalking off before she does.
Rosie should stick to comedy. She takes herself too seriously. I'm concerned that her medication doesn't suit her. Her personality has changed since she started antidepressants. She is a very angry person, and she is slamming people who disagree with her. She should check her grammar in regard to Barbara. The correct English is "between Barbara and me," not "between Barbara and I." Who proofed the book?
Barbara Walters seems to me as a major HIPPOCRIT, I do like her reporting, but I find that she tries to be politically TOOO correct and Rosie is TRUE TRUE BLUE. And I am a straight girl. Therefore, ROSIE YOU GO GIRL, and keep telling the world the truth like it is.

Rosie's had no career left before she did the View. She should be grateful to Babs. She seems to be the jealous one. Lets see what her career has in store for her next. maybe she can co-host with Star on Court TV.
If the bottom line was strictly and solely viewship, without regard to content, just imagine the skanky things we might be forced to view. Just remember in High School, or anywhere, for that matter, when hundreds gathered around when they heard & saw, 'fight! fight!" Unfortunately, that was the bulk of Rosie's appeal, from what I could see. People were tuning in to catch the latest segment of whatever fight she was waging at that moment. It's the same reason accidents have looky-loos. That doesn't necessarily mean the content is to be desired. That's a shame, actually, because Rose is intelligent and charming at times, and actually does do some things right. Did you ever see the movie Rollerball? Reminds me of the 'anything goes as long as it sells' mentality so dishearteningly prevalent in some of the media lately. Rosie will find her niche. She should work alone.

Barbara Walters is a very well respected woman and she may be older, but she looks way better that Rosie. Rosie, please just let it go. She always seems to be fighting with someone.

Re: Producer – I've been a VIEW watcher since it started and everyone I know that watches and I all shut the program off when Barbara is on because she makes us uncomfortable. Yes, Rosie did too but Barbara tries to CONTROL everyone and she always has to name drop and lord it over the whole group that SHE Is the producer- BLAH BLAH and she is BORING BORING BORING- we are sick of looking and listening to her drivel. She show is always easier to watch when SHE is not present. She needs to stay off more often and the ratings will go UP. We are just a few people who feel this way and I am sure there are more out there.
