Despite the fact that the VMAs sucked, ratings were up this year. Way up!
Everyone at MTV must be breathing a sigh of relief. They needed this to be a hit badly.
Viewership for the big show was up 23% over last year! 7.1 million people watched the VMAs on Sunday.
She may be the ultimate fuck-up, but people are still curious about Britney Spears. Those who have decried her career as "dead" may have predicted so foolishly.
Her new album won't do anywhere near what her previous efforts did, but we don't think it will totally bomb either.
So when is she gonna do that sit-down interview with Oprah?????

I think that she might have done okay last night if it weren't for the last year that she has been partying and abusing drugs and shaving her head. I think that she should have deffinitely frequented the gym for the last 2 months straight. She should have also rehearsed that VMA performance for a solid 2 weeks. For everyone on this posting that saying she isn't fat, and to cut her some slack for just having 2 kids…..
Well, maybe she isn't as fat at Perez, but for the outfit she chose to wear for this performance, she WAS too fat. And yes, considering she has had two kids recently, she isn't obese. But then again, she shouldn't wear this type of outfit if she isn't in the proper shape to display it to her advantage.
So if she is golng to wear basically a sparkly black bikini on stage for the whole world to see, and we still remember the hot old Britney, she has to face the criticism she will obviously get if she isn't in tip-top shape. She should have worn something else not quite so revealing, or she should have busted her ass more getting in shape. She seemed to be lacking in preparation for her performance, both in physical shape and for the actual performance itself.
Also, stop defending her because she was nervous, because her shoe broke, because MTV changed her act on her, because Sarah Silverman said something she didn't like, etc., etc. The Britney fans are huge enablers, just like the hangers-on that Britney herself surrounds herself with. It is never Britney's fault; it is someone else's fault. Blah, blah, blah! She has got to start taking responsibility for herself and stop making excuses. If she had properly prepared for this performance, none of this backlash this week would be happening.

I think the act was really bad and she isn't trying near as much as the old Britney. She's clearly battling with some addictions. Food being one of them. Yes Im not in perfect shape, but Im not trying to be a performer in a bikini in front of the whole world. There are actors/entertainers who just had babies that are in nice shape.
