In a profile in the new issue of The New York Times Magazine, Rachel Zoe does the unthinkable - she insults Vogue editrix Anna Wintour.
Oh, yes she did!
Says Zoe, "Anna Wintour is one of my heroes, but they say that I’m more influential. As great as it is, Vogue won’t change a designer’s business. But if an unknown brand is worn by a certain person in a tabloid, it will be the biggest designer within a week. When I worked with Nicole [Richie], there were things that she wore that designers had to remake for another season because there was such demand.’’
It's on!
We don't know how Rachel is going to spin this one.

Like it or not shes right! How many young girls read Vogue? How many young girls read Us Weekly or look at Nicole's picture on Perez or PITNB and want what shes wearing? Millions and millions, far surpassing the Vogue readership. This is a celebrity culture and . demand is driven by the young celebrity crazed generation, not the stiffs who read Vogue..

Oh, get over it Perez! As much as we all love to hate her Rachel Zoe is SO right. Vogue does influence shoppers and introduce them to new designers, but nothing beats the power of those weekly rags show casing our favorite malnourished celebs wearing the 'latest and the greatest.'
And Anna Wintour is a bitch so who the fuck cares if she ends up black listing Zoe!!

I think this is a non-issue. Vogue magazine and stylists to the "famous for being famous" set work in two very different worlds. I could be wrong but the blog doesn't seem that earth shattering to me.

personally, neither of these women has that much to do with what a designer makes. vigue is beautiful, but no one buys the types of clothes they feature. very few people buy $14k dresses with ostrich feathers and crocodile belts, etc.
