Uh oh! Something very curious has happened!
Several PerezHilton.com readers have emailed us to let us know that the MTV Video Music Awards aired in parts of Europe this past weekend and Britney's disastrous performance was cut from the show!!!!
Instead, the program started with Sarah Silverman's comedic monologue.
Is this because Britney didn't want her "performance" in the show anymore or does MTV think that rebroadcasting Spear's performance hurt ratings???

It is not in MTV's interest to broadcast her performance if they think viewers won't like it. They want to keep the viewers happy. Viewers mean: $$$$$$$$
The reactions in the US on Brits performance were very negative.., A bit over the top perhaps because the other performances were also lypsinced and more boring than hers.
Maybe she herself didn't want the performance to be shown outside of the US. IN that case MTV will almost certainly have scrapped her performance because it is not in their interest to become her enemy. Brit is big $$$$$$$ for them. Bigger than any other artist. They know that she has a new album. They know it is bound to sell big time because she is so famous and because the first hit single is already a success although it hasn't even been officially released yet. That will happen on the 2nd of October btw.
My bet is Britney requested that it not be aired anymore and MTV complied. Didn't the same thing happen with Jessica Simpson and her Dolly Parton tribute? No way MTV would pull it on their own. It's a definite ratings grabber. Of course, with the Internet, it's the video is all over the world, so it probably doesn't matter.
