Uh oh! Something very curious has happened!
Several PerezHilton.com readers have emailed us to let us know that the MTV Video Music Awards aired in parts of Europe this past weekend and Britney's disastrous performance was cut from the show!!!!
Instead, the program started with Sarah Silverman's comedic monologue.
Is this because Britney didn't want her "performance" in the show anymore or does MTV think that rebroadcasting Spear's performance hurt ratings???

Yep, I was wonder wtf happened with that performance aswell. Not that I wanted to see it cause I was expecting it to be good. Just the opposite. And if u go to MTV's pages and try to see the video from there, you can't. Something about copyrights outside the US.

No..the fucked up thing is that MTV said there would be no VMA reruns and guess what….it's currently on. Here in the US the opened up with Chris Brown. Uhhhhh…all I have to say is if you ain't gonna run it all then don't run it at all.

One of my friends apparently is good friends with someone who "worked" at the event.
I'm not going to give any details because everything will come out in due time, but none of this was Britney's fault and I feel really bad (even though I still want to beat her for that performance).
There were so many malfunctions with planning and rehearsing that it was doomed to fail. Think about it, all Britney does is dance at the VMAs… there were problems with the staff, choreography, hair, costumes, and Britney was left to pick up the pieces… LIVE.
I think MTV is attempting to do damage control so they can remain in good standing with Britney. They make a lot of revenue with her and that relationship is valuable. And they don't want too many celebrities (other than Kanye) generating more disapproval of the event which everyone says sucked.
MTV fucked up… they are just trying to cover and re-edit to sell commercial time.

I've just watched it last night in germany and it wasn't cut out. they showed the whole sad story. it reminded me on a poor whale stranded on a beach…
Britney has made some irrational decisions in life and is now paying for them.. such as marrying that golddigger K Fed.. what did he do, knock her up with 2 kids.. that's easy any man can do that.. It did air in Europe, it was on the VMA pre-show. Sarah Silverman's unfunny monologue began the main show, but Britney's performance was still shown.

Britney's performance wasn't cut from the show, I'm from Germany and so I know that.
Honestly it was her worst performance, but in my opinion she's the best.

I have been traveling Europe for the past month. I have seen Britneys performance air in France, Italy and Spain! No cuts that I have seen.
