MTV has lost all touch with their core audience!
Over the weekend, the former youth network unveiled their new Viacom-funded Lauren Conrad collection, clothes for girls that The Hills star allegedly designed herself.
You see all three of those outfits above? They each are on sale for $135 or more!!!!! Seriously!
We are stunned but not surprise. It just goes to show you how clueless MTV is these days.
We thought for sure they would have gone in the Amanda Bynes or Sarah Jessica Parker direction, selling cute clothes at affordable priced ($20 or less).
Instead, MTV wants to gauge their audience and charge way too much for clothes that you could get for a fraction of the cost at H&M, Forever 21 or Hot Topic.
You see that scarf LC is wearing on top? Even THAT is overpriced, retailing for $29.99.

They aren't that bad, although its sooo disapointing to see the lack of variety!! has she learned nothing at her internship? For what it is it's way over priced. Not to mention there are no plus sizes, apparently girls with cruves are not the "look" they are going for here.

Ok first of all, I love Lauren! When i heard that she was coming out with her own line i was so stoked! But now it's sad to see that there is nothing about her collection that is original, and eye catching! I mean this is her first collection ever! P. Nasty is right this is all stuff you can easily find at your local Mall in any store. 2 thumbs down lauren!
P.S. Im all for breaking the piggy bank for expensive clothes, but when all they sell is the name not the look or quality then Id rather go to Forever21 and buy the same exact dress for like $20! Her new line STINKS!!!!!!!

Since when have plain colored cotton dresses qualified as a design? LC: designing something means that you make something original and unique…target has had these dresses for 2 seasons, i almost offended that someone is trying to sell me this trash.
The clothes are okay at most, and no way in hell are they going to sell well being that overpriced. The only people that will be paying that much for her clothes are the spoiled little teenage girls that watch her lame ass show. They're unoriginal and look like they are from Forever 21. Being on a "reality" show doesn't automatically make you talented!!
The clothese are cute, but they're not really inspiring and overpriced. She's going to need to get a lot more creative to be a real designer. Um I think You missed th point. Lauren doesnt want MTV kids to buy her clothes - that is not her target buyer for this collection. She wants to be a real designer - far beyond the days when she isnt on MTV. I think that her designs are like her - classic and pretty but never over the top. Heidi and Spencer are disgusting, they complain that they are being villianized, yet look at how they act. Shady and brainless. Heidi's "song" blows chunks. She will be forgotten long before lauren. Oh yeah and she is UGLY.

im sooooo glad you mentioned amanda and sarah jessica! i am a manager at steve and barrys which is where amanda (dear) and Sarah Jessica (Bitten) clothing is sold. i now find it very hard to spend any large amount of money on any item of clothing because i know i could get super cute trendy clothing from there for great prices. seriously what are they paying for anyway?? if steve and barrys can sell amanda and sarah jessica clothing for that cheap then why cant other stores??

Buying from a designer of any kind is supporting them. If you don't like a designer then you don't buy from them, you don't support them.
She has wanted to be a designer for a long time and finally gets to do it, she is just lucky she didnt have to go through the process majority has to.
And sure you may not like her, you may not like her clothing and you may think it's expensive for what it is, SO don't buy it!
