According to Nielsen info, the telecast was the second worst in Emmy history.

Let's face the facts, Seacrest blows. NO ONE is going to tune in to an excruciating show hosted by this mediocre. He is SO no talented. A great host may encourage many to watch the show, but the addition of this blow hard was like an Emmy repellant. Stars or no stars, NO ONE wants to see him. ever. If he disappeared no on would care.

In Ryan's and/or the Emmy's defense, in the Northeast they were up against the Patriots v. Chargers for Sunday night football as well as the rivalry between the Red Sox and Yankees. Too much going on at the same time. I also agree that the Emmy's were poorly promoted. Didn't see a single advertisement for it. Oh well.

I don't think it was his as much as it was that the show was done in the round. It's an AWARD show not a freaking play… It just made everything seem informal and it looked like it confused everyone. Not to mention the fact that they kept cutting to nowhere every 5 minutes.

I didn't know it was going to be on FOX, I searched ALL channels before looking at FOX. I was SHOCKED that they were on FOX…but also people are starting to not care about TV…it's all about the internet that Gore invented…HAHAHA!!! Also, without Joan & Melissa, it just wasn't the same…I LOVED to watch JOAN FUCK up everyone's name and not know who anyone was then cut to Melissa cringe with disgust at her Mom…bring them back!!!! That's entertainment…..

im not convinced this has anything to do with Seacrest, but rather, the fact that everyone is burned out on awards show. There are way too many of them and the magic of the Emmy's has died. They give awards to every fucking jerk off for picking their nose. People arent interested in these endless award shows anymore. This has nothing to do with Ryan.

I think Ryan did a great job hosting the primttime Emmy Awards! Technically the show was awkward…in the round stage, lighting etc…
But Ryan was funny, I loved his joke following Lewis Black's deal.."look for him this Fall on Valium!"

When i heard he was hosting it, i stayed away from fox like the plague because i hate him. American Idol is a hit cause of the judges and the contestants, Ryan brings nothing to that show. He just tries desperately to keep his job on that show by always arguing with Simon. And why wont he just come out about being gay we all know it?? Whos he trying to fool???

Then theres the problem that i and alot of people dont care about award shows and it doesnt help when the host is someone you dislike, maybe if it was someone else i would have given it a chance

Why is it that when an award show tanks they always blame the host? What does Ryan Seacrest have to do with the fact that people have more important things to do with their time than watch a bunch of phony people give themselves awards? Why won't they realize that maybe people aren't interested in watching a bunch of over privileged and talentless hacks award themselves with honours that they don't deserve. We won't get to see how the ladies did until the fall, but today in Austin, Britney Spears and Demi Lovato took their seats as the new judges on The X Factor. Someone had the foresight of smuggling in a recording device to the Texas auditions and we've got the audio from the ladies' first critique!
