The jury in the Phil Spector murder trial have been unable to reach a decision.
Guilty, you idiots!
The famed record producer is facing second degree murder charges and on Tuesday the jury - in its seventh day of deliberations - told the judge that they are at a 7-5 stand still, but they did not indicate which way they were leaning.
"At this time I don't believe that anything else will change the positions of the jurors," the foreman said.
The defense attorneys immediately asked for a mistrial but the judge denied it on grounds that three jurors indicated that further instructions may help.

Following the trial here in LA, it seemed fairly clear that the prosecutors had not proved 2nd degree murder beyond a reasonable doubt.
On that basis, not convicting him seems the reasonable thing to do. Perhaps if a manslaughter charge is considered, that might be the right verdict.

It is completely reasonable - based on following the trial here in LA - to decide that he is not guilty beyond a reasonable doubt of 2nd degree murder. Manslaughter, perhaps, but the prosecutors overreached (and remember, a lot of the problems in LA cases come from botched prosecutions - see under Simpson, O.J.).
If OJ got away with murder, why not this creep? It is obvious that he killed her. What a travesty!

Trials are a JOKE in this country, it's a miracle anyone gets convicted. First of all, the most damming evidence against criminals rarely makes it to trial especially if they are wealthy and even if it does they hire "experts" who lie on the stand to refute it. Then their lawyers challenge the jury pool to ensure that only the dumbest people get on the jury so they won't understand the evidence, will become confused and acquit. That's what happened with the OJ case. Just fill up the jury with stupid ass blacks with a 10th grade education and immediatly it's an acquital.

That's the problem with these high profile trials. The judges should never let them go on so long. Only people who have that much time on their hands wind up on a jury like that. They have nothing better to do. The problem is they don't listen to the testimony once they're there, and then they wind up in a deadlock, because the idiots who think he's innocent are just that - IDIOTS. What a waste of taxpayer's money. I hope they come the right conclusion and find him guilty.
