Charlotte Church gave birth to a baby girl on Friday morning and she did it the old fashioned way. The Welsh star delivered at home with the help of midwives.

Rugby stud Gavin Henson, Char's boyfriend, was present for the birth.

Congratulations! It must have hurt without any drugs!!!

      Awww…. Perez, you are so clueless… The old fashioned way actually makes your body produce some pretty awesome "drugs". It's the best high ever! And you get a baby as a bonus. Good thing she didn't go to a hospital, where sadly, the chances of doctors carving you up like a turkey are up to 50%.

      I'll stop saying she's fat when she's not fat anymore. There's nothing wrong with ostracizing people for their unhealthy behavior. But because people are so used to seeing skinny women like Victoria Beckham, people assume anyone who isn't her size is fat. Charlotte Church was a healthy size before pregnancy, not skinny, healthy.

      I don't know what kind of anesthesiologist you guys had but when I had my 3 kids with my epidural I was good to go. The beginning contractions were a pain but once I got to the hospital and they hooked me up I felt tons better. I delivered all my kids without pain and screaming, and ect. No surgery needed and NO TEARS. Maybe I had a better hospital or better insurance or something but my friends and I have delivered with epidurals and had the same results. We all have healthy children and all is well. Why anyone would subject themselves to unnecessary pain is retarded in my opinion. The risks to the baby are very minimal. also while pregnancy puts weight on you not all women BLOW UP while pregnant. An important thing pregnant women forget is you don't really need to eat for 2 and you should get plenty of exercise. Exercise and eating health portions is good for the baby. 20-35 lbs is good weight gain when you put on 40 or 50 thats actually bad for the baby. Trust me I'm a nurse.

      Good for her. I commend her for making the wisest choice for her and her baby. Birthing at home is the safest way to go. Why be admitted into a germ center to deliver a child? I will never understand. More women should choose to experience birth, it can be orgasmic! Especially in the privacy of your own home, in the company of only those you trust. This pain thing has been drilled into our heads for so long. "It's gonna hurt, you can't do it without medication." BS Birthing naturally is so empowering, rock on sistah!

      very impressed to see some women on this site actually no what's up about real child birth. Childbirth can be the most euphoric high you can ever have. And after birth, you have no medication in your blood stream to make you loopy or numb. If we just learned to trust our bodies, they work way better than any medication or doctor could.

      I think it's great that she gave birth the natural way. Do anyone know of another "star" that actually have done that? Seem to me that everyone gets a ceasarean and that is not a good thing if it is possible to give birth naturally. The body needs much more time to heal after a ceasarean since it's an operation and the body is actually made to give birth…

      Congrats to her! I hope her homebirth experience was as amazing and empowering as mine was. I had an epidural birth in a hospital with my first child and it was not pleasant. My baby and I both experienced side effects from the epidural. They are NOT as safe as everyone professes. I vowed to have a drug-free birth my second, and the difference was incredible. I actually enjoyed my experience and felt FANTASTIC afterwards. The recovery was so much faster. Baby was a lot more alert as well. I believe every woman should choose their own birthing method, to each their own. But I would always choose a homebirth (barring complications of course).

      My mother had me without any drugs and said it wasn't as bad as she thought. she was very prepared and only had a five hour labor. I had drugs when I had my daughter and third degree tearing and stitches ( very pianful) and don't plan on going through it again.
      Every birth is different.

      To Perez, I gave birth to my daughter at home also. Yes, it hurt a bit, but I wouldn't have changed it for the world. Our next baby will be born at home also.
