She was holding out for more money!
Maya Rudolph had announced on Monday that she was leaving Saturday Night Live, just days before the start of the new season.
Now, on Tuesday, the funny lady said that she IS coming back.
In a statement released through NBC, Rudolph says, "'It was an agonizing decision, but ultimately, I feel I made the best choice both as a mother and as an actress. I couldn’t be happier to be returning to SNL.'"
How much more money did they pay her?????

Maya is the worst thing on SNL. She is nowhere near Tina Fey's writing or Cheri Oteri's goofiness. Maya can't act and for some god awful reason she is in every skit. A no talent big nose whiner. I was hoping she would leave. What a bitch too.
That's great news, she's very skilled! SNL has a very strong female cast right now, and has for a few years with Rachel before (work more please!) and now Kristen. Love Amy and anything she's in too.

If it was more money she deserves it (I'm saying IF because you don't really know if that's true or not). She's been one of the better cast members on there for years. They made a big mistake letting go those few cast members last season. Especially Chris Parnel. He's always been a good cast member and just when he starts getting huge, thanks to that Chronicles of Narnia rap spoof, they get rid of him. That was a stupid move.
I HATE this chic. She is so NOT hot. It was funny to see her face with all the bed bug bites, actually I think it helped her face, she is FUG.
I guess everyone has their own opinion, but its really hard for me to understand how someone can think she has no talent. Are we all talking about the same person? I think she is hilarious. And extremely talented. Plus she sings really well. Almost every impersonation is on point. IMO.
She's not funny and it finally dawned on her that leaving the only gig willing to pay her was career suicide. That she's coming back is bad news for SNL.
She's one of the few genuinely funny SNL cast members around. I would not have come back; the show is comatose.

At her age, she should move onto something better. She should be using SNL as a launching pad like other former cast members. It's sorta like staying in college one year too many when all your friends have graduated. You start to look out of place after a while.

maya is the daughter of the late, great minnie riperton..her mother was african-american and her dad is jewish…her parents were great friends with gwyneth paltrow's parents they grew up together and unfortunately minnie passed away in 1979 from breast cancer…minnie riperton had a five octave voice…out-of-this world unique ..she has influenced numerous singers including mariah carey..who stated that growing up she would try to hit the highnotes in minnie's songs….minnie's music was very sensual and sexy..including light my fire, etc…..maya's dad was a producer who worked for mca records and later went on to produce tracks for such r&b groups as early new edition songs i.e. lost in love….i hope that maya's kids will be blessed with her mother's vocal talent

Looking forward to Maya again this season. She's very talented. SNL really needs to take its dick outside of the box, though. Lost its edge. Not too funny anymore. Weekend Update has its moments, plus Andy Samberg's Blizzard Man and digital shorts but that's about it for freshness. What happened to hilarious commercial parodies or satires of annoying, over-exposed celebutards like Rachael Ray?

THANK GOODNESS I LOVE HER. SHE IS awesome, talented and pretty. Love her. One of my all time SNL favorites. She can really sing and her mother was really talented as well, Minnie Riperton, "Lovin You… is easy cause you're beautiful" with her 5-octave range. Sadly Minnie died in 1979 from breast cancer caught too late and spread.
