UK trainwreck Kerry Katona announced earlier this week that she was pregnant. Even though she's only four to five weeks along, she decided to send out a press release confirming her baby news.
Then, on Tuesday, she reportedly suffered a miscarriage, which her publicist confirmed.
Now, on Wednesday, her publicist is saying that Kerry's somehow still pregnant after all.
Katona's publicist, Max Clifford, just released the following statement:
"After further examination it has been revealed that Kerry Katona is still pregnant. Kerry went back into hospital for a medical procedure last night (Tuesday). However, a blood test revealed surprising results – her pregnancy hormones had gone up, not down. Kerry was taken for a second scan and was shown her baby’s 3mm heart beat. It has transpired that Kerry is only five weeks pregnant, not seven-eight weeks, which is why the scan was not clear and coupled with bleeding led to her being diagnosed with having had a miscarriage. She is still at risk of complications – however she and Mark are ecstatic that she is still pregnant with their baby."

You can't see a h/b on a 3mm embryo. Even with a trans-vaginal ultrasound she would need to be about 6 weeks and have a 5mm embryo to pick up a heart beat. At 5 weeks all that they could verify would be a gestational sac & yolk sac. WEIRD!

when my daughter was that far along they picked up a heartbeat. (they were surprised to get it). They even said that it was too early on to get one & got it anyway. We didn't actually view the heart though. All we saw on the screen was the amniotic sac….it looked like a kidney bean. They even printed it out for us. I have a copy in my baby scrapbook it says hi grandma & pa-paw on the picture.

Well in all of todays UK publications they are saying she did in fact suffer a miscarriage. No surprise she admitted to heavily drinking and doing cocaine throughout her last pregnancy which resulted in her baby being 6-7 weeks premature. I think she should be sterilized. She is going through a major custody battle over her two older daughters because of her drug use. She is a poor excuse for a mother and human being. Thats not true. I had an internal scan at 5+1 and the heartbeat was crystal clear.

I have read some things about this news here and on another website, this chick maybe kind of nutty but,,,,
this has happened to me before,,
I was around 6 to 8 weeks,, and I bled, I freaked out,, went to my doctor,, he told me with a very cold beside manner that it was a failed pregnancy, and I would continue bleeding and lose my baby, I was devasted, he did blood work and after another exam, it was confirmed it was not a failed pregnancy, my daughter is 16 1/2 today and might I add quite beautiful and brilliant
however in the 24 to 48 hour timeframe I thought I had lost my baby I was devasted and told family members etc,, that I had indeed lost my baby,
so when I found out I had not lost my baby, I was so thankful,
that was my second baby,, and I might add,, during my first pregnancy with my first daughter,, I had bleeding as well, but had yet to know I was with child, I was assuming that bleeding was just a short period,, it was not until later I found out i was with child,
long story short,, some women do actually have bleeding during a pregnancy,, and with me,, it happened in both of my pregnancy's
I wish her luck with her baby,

It is possible …I've seen it happen. A friend was pregnant and she miscarried. She called and told me she still felt pregnant and was going in for a D&C the next day. I told her to have an ultrasound before she had the D&C &, to her amazement, she was still pregnant. She was carrying twins and miscarried one. The "baby" just turned 16. Betsy
You can see the heartbeat in a transvaginal ultrasound at 6 weeks, I know from experience. I wish that I could have miraculously still been pregnant like her, instead of actually having a miscarriage. Good luck to her in her pregnancy(even though I've never even heard of her before…)

Sounds to me like she is still not out of the woods. Persistent bleeding with a slow developing embryo was my exact situation that eventually resulted in a miscarriage. Hoping she has a better result.

It's possible that she lost a twin, in that case it would appear that she is having a miscarriage but still have one viable, live embryo present on u/s. It's also possible to ovulate (and conceive) twice in one month, so it IS possible that she may well have lost a 7w embryo and still be growing a healthy 5w embryo.
Just sayin'… I have no idea why this woman is famous, but I wanted to let y'all know that it might actually be going down the way they said…

Nobody's fucking with you…this is actually common in early pregnancy…a baby's heartbeat doesn't start until about 6 wks, and then can't really be seen clearly on an ultrasound till around 8 wks, though sometimes it can be seen sooner. So her spotting, etc, is NORMAL. This happens a LOT.
If you were an educated WOMAN, you might know this…so just gill out.
and to all that say she shouldn't announce until she's past 12 weeks, I hate to break this to you all, but miscarriages can happen at any time in a pregnancy.

I work at a daycare and it actually has happened where a mother is told they have miscarried and then go to have the D and C and find out that they are in fact still pregnant. It's pretty scary how wrong doctors are…especially when it comes to babies. Not that I know this person in real life, but I am just saying, it does in fact happen where the doctor is totally wrong.
