He's free. Free to be crazy and shoot again!

With a deadlocked jury still unable to reach a decision, the judge in the Phil Spector case declared a mistrial on Wednesday.

Such a lucky break!

Spector has always displayed misogynistic, controlling values. His wife Roni was a prisoner in thier house for 2 decades where he threatened her with guns repeatedly. I don't know if that made it into the trial but I do know of one woman who gave testimony that he held her in his home at gunpoint after she wanted to end a "date" early. There is no doubt that he did shoot Lana, the only question is how. On purpose, or did the gun go off accidentally. He should be convicted of voluntary manslaughter, because that's what he did. I don't think there was premeditaion, other than he probably knew in his mind that if things didn't go his way, he little gun was proven to be a powerful tool of pursuasion. They might give him involuntary manslaughter, but when a guy has been pulling guns on women for decades, I'd call it voluntary. Watch your back Perez, he's crazy.

2 jurors held up a conviction!! One reason apparently not enough blood on
Specter. One of the jurist that voted guilty thought the Defence was insulting his intelligence. Obviously the other 2 were brain dead.

maybe the jury was starstruck? during the trial he,on every news show they kept referring to him as " Musical Genius" kinda hard to convict, ya know? why wasn't the victim portrayed more positively, like her life was over cuz she was still hot and over 40…please, this story reminds of the movie "Hollywoodland"…

Maybe it's a girl thing, but I can't imagine any woman draping her handbag over her shoulder just before she commits suicide. I just can't get past that one.
      .
Women may regularly commit atrocities against themselves, but if you're of the mindset that you're gonna shoot yourself in the face, you probably aren't going to drape your purse over your shoulder before you do it.
      .
I understand the blood spatter problem & can't explain it. But what I'm talking about is human nature & I don't think she killed herself.

      220

They can retry him of course, but the same thing will happen again. There will be nothing new to prove he did it. It will only cost the taxpayers more money to retry this ugly murdering freak. He should be convicted for the hair. He is a true freako. The jury probably consisted of a bunch of brain dead idiots. A retrial also means that we will have to look at this fug even more - sitting there with that ugly hair and that weird ass look on his face. Lying, murdering bastard. I hope somebody kicks his ass.

My heart goes out to Lana's family. Lana sounded really likable, decent and was quite beautiful. I believe this was a tragic accident. Guns are lethal but the forensics weren't on the side of murder. Science trumped heresy. Not every one on this jury was a sheep who just follows the herd. I am happy with this outcome… Congrats PS. Now someone get those guns away from him, please.

    35. LaMulata says – reply to this

      235

Will someone please explain why when he stated to the cops, at his house that morning, that he 'didn't mean it and it was an accident', that this was not evidence worthy of admission in court? Those shaking, creepy hands are guilty! Everyone in the business knows he has, at time, held girls hostage. It's the reason Janet Jackson, among others, was advised not to work with him.
His wife is an aspiring musician, song writer….I knew he wasn't getting his minuscule knob polished for the love of it..it's all business. Ewwwww! X>P

    36. ratta ! says – reply to this

      236

He could have felt responsible because it was his gun that he pulled out in his home. She could have accidently pulled the trigger while being "theatrical". Yes he has pointed guns at many people before but the judge said to simply point the gun rudely wasn't enough to convict. He never shot anyone before. The smoking gun photo admitted into evidence would have created tons of residue on his white coat and it wasn't there. The tiny amount of blood under his sleave said his arm was above her in a defensive pose. The science just isn't there.

ARE YOU STUPID???? NO ONE GOES TO A RECORD PRODUCER'S HOUSE TO COMMIT SUICIDE. THIS GIRL WANTED TO BE FAMOUS AND THOUGHT HE WOULD HELP HER CAREER. LITTLE DID SHE KNOW HE WAS A SCHIZOPHRENIC GUN NUT. "BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT" MEANS THERE HAS TO BE AN ACTUAL REASONABLE DOUBT HE DIDN'T DO IT, IT'S NOT REASONABLE THAT SHE COMMITTED SUICIDE LIKE HIS LAWYERS CLAIM JUST LIKE IT'S NOT REASONABLE NICOLE BROWN SIMPSON'S KILLERS ARE RUNNING AROUND ON A GOLF COURSE SOMEWHERE. I SWEAR THIS COUNTRY HAS THE DUMBEST PEOPLE.

Sheesh. Celebrity justice strikes again. I think every sane individual's thoughts and sympathies are with Lana's family right now. The only silver lining on this dark cloud of misogyny, ironically enough, is that the 27-year-old Mrs Spector must be well pissed off she don't get to play lady of the manor on her ownsome after all. Better get on eBay and get yourself bruise cream and a male mannequin for when you're 'allowed' out the house alone…

    42. John Q. Lawyer says – reply to this

      242

Hey Perez, love your site, just wanted to let you know, that this doesn't mean crazy Phil is off the hook for good. In declaring a mistrial the judge is just deciding that the jury is hopelessly deadlocked without the possibility of changing their minds. As a result, the prosecution can still retry the case with an entirely new jury, but you are right, the likelihood of him getting convicted the second time around is usually slim to none, but not to be a dick, I just wanted to clear up that factual error so people don't think he still can't be convicted.

hey stupid hick… if you read my post, idiot, you would have seen I did not believe this was a suicide, but instead a tragic accident. If it was Phil who pulled the trigger, where was the gun shot residue and where was the blood on his white jacket? I don't think it was even possible for him to have shot her, forensicly.
