Grey's Anatomy Bombs In The Ratings!

This is a shocker!
Last season's hottest show, Grey's Anatomy, got squashed in the ratings by none other than CSI, which has been on the air forever!
At 9 p.m., CBS has plenty to smile about with the eighth season-premiere of CSI besting the fourth season-premiere of ABC's Grey's Anatomy (15.2/23 vs. 12.6/19) by 21 percent in the overnights. Although Grey's Anatomy could ultimately still win among adults 18-49, last year the medical drama opened with a 17.1/25 — 15 percent above CSI.
Seems like viewers have grown tired of McDreamy, McSteamy and all that shiz.
This does not bode well for the new Grey's spin-off, Private Practice, which debuted to less heat and buzz than NBC's Bionic Woman.

I watched Grey's last night…it was OK. But without Burke…it is certainly "missing something". And as much as I love Kate Walsh….I'm not going to watch Private Practice…….just another show to get sucked into. I'm patiently waiting for LOST.

I never bought into Grey's Anatomy-too soap opera.They both probably will get cancelled.

I love Grey's, I've seen every episode, and I watched the season premiere. Season two ended so well, and since then the shows been kind of anti climatic; there are too many story lines going on. They need to focus on a few and make them really strong. Hopefully the season will get better as it gores along.

It is nothing but a cheesy soap opera and the guys aren't that good looking and Ellen the lead skin and bones actress is not interesting at all.

I agree with PinkSherbert. Without Burke, there's no reason to watch. He and Yang were the best things about that show!! Regardless of your opinion of Washington, he was fantastic on GA. I tuned in b/c of Patrick Dempsey. I stayed with it b/c of Burke.

i thought greys was really good last night. ill admit i miss washington a bit but i think it adds tragity to chritinas character and it works! private practice was not my favorite but ill watch it and give it a chance.

I flipped over to it for a minute and saw the ridiculous "save the deer" scene and changed it right back to whatever else I was watching. That was seriously lame, this show has taken a nose dive.
I stopped watching Grey's in the middle of last year. It became horrible after Meredith, "died" and her mom died and yet she was back to work the next day. It became unbearable after George and Izzie got together. Add that into the predictable guest patient of the week whose disease/death/issue plays into whatever fucked up personal life of the staff - boring, stupid, predictable

I have never watched Grey's Anatomy and have no interest in it because of all the stupid "McDreamy", "McSteamy" crap. They all look like Hollywood people–they're nothing different. Frankly, for me, when all you hear about is how you should watch the show because the guys look so great, that just tells me that it won't last long–just like so many other flash-in-the-pan Hollywood stories.
I knew the moment that Washington left that I would never watch the show again. He may have said something about gays, but firing him was a big mistake.
His relationship with Sandra OH was the only thing worth watching. I like the tension. I never cared for Macsteamy or McDreamy. It was all Bull.
I guess Isaiha Washington may have gotten the last laugh after all. His new show "Bionic Woman" is slated to be a hit.
I loved seasons 1 & 2, but season 3 sucked. Mer & McDreamy should stay together instead of breaking up all the time. BORING!
Oh…and all the fighting and bad press from last year didn't help either…
Re: FAT MARY IS BACK BITCHEZ!!! – I have to say I am disappointed Sara lived. I stopped watching once Gil and Sara came out with their relationship. I realize they are supposed to be in love but the whole thing just skeezed me out, kind of like House and Cameron on House. I would like to see Sara decide she doesn't want to be there or get fired for having a relationship with her supervisor.
I contemplated watching CSI, because I think the melodrama has gotten a bit fucking ridiculous, not everyone on the show has to be happy, that would suck too, but I mean seriously, how many things can they do to Meridith, its gratuitous sadness at this point. I don't even care about her at all.
The only thing that redeemed last nights show was the deer. That shit was funny.

It was my favorite show and I loved all the characters, however; when TR and his blonde side kick did what they did - I could not stand them. It is not the same without Isaah W. so - I refuse to watch it for those three reasons. It also lost another great character in Walsh and the rest just cannot hold my interest.
It was one of the only few shows on TV I liked but they had to ruin it for some of us.

I was watching The Office and it's kind of sucky because the receptionist and the guy she's liked forever are finally together. They should have built up to it in the sense that they flirted in the office (now being two single people), then maybe kiss in the stockroom, etc. Build up to it. Anywho, I was bummed that I missed Grey but oh well.
That show is a piece of trash. FINALLY America is starting to realize this. All of the cool people were too busy watching 'The Office' at 9 to give a shit about this show.

I watched the Office (LOVED IT) and taped Grey's. CSI was on the hour before for me, and I watched that too. Grey's was good I thought. I do agree that the deer was a little over the top and sometimes Izzie is just plain annoying on how insisting she is with George…the guy is married! Leave him alone! I miss Burke, I dont think it was a good idea to get rid of him, or at least have SOME kind of ending between him and Cristina…

I always new CSI is the big winner. They should give all those actors on CSI a million dollars like NBC did the actors on Friends. CSI is ALWAYS in the Top 10. Grey's Anatomy is just another medical show with some gays in it.

UGH!!! I HATE Lexi Grey…STUPID idea…nothing fresh in the opener..I HATE all the new interns - if you can't keep it interesting with ALL of the main characters they already have, then maybe it's time to call it quits - was not fresh and definitely NOT exciting…all the anticipation was for nothing!!

Like ER, that show has always been way overrated. Glad to hear this news! HOUSE is a far better medical drama any way. And CSI, like LAW & ORDER, an excellent show/franchise.
