She's been seen leaving a pre-natal yoga class and looking a bit more curvaceous than usual, but is Eva Mendes pregnant?
She doesn't want to be!
In an interview with the new issue of Gotham magazine, the Cuban-American actress says she doesn't believe in marriage and has no desire to have children…at least not any time soon.
Gotham: Is it harder to have a relationship with someone in or outside of the business?
Eva Mendes: Well, I have a boyfriend, George Augusto who's actually my producing partner. He's in the business so he totally gets the traveling thing and being away. We just make it work. And sometimes it works to your benefit to be away because you come back and you're so excited to be together. It's almost like those little breakups are fun to keep the spark. So it's not always a bad thing.
G: I read that you're not into marriage as an institution.
EM: Yeah, I totally believe in having a soul mate. I love the idea of being committed to the same person; I'm a romantic in that way. But my boyfriend and I think marriage is antiquated. And we think it's so unfair that it isn't legal in this country for consenting adults- no matter what their gender or sexual preference is- to get married. The idea of union is
fantastic, but the actual ceremony isn't appealing to me. I never wanted the big wedding.
G: Never?
EM: No, and I don't know if I ever want kids, so I'm kind of a weirdo in that way.
G: Maybe you just haven't been hit with the maternal instinct yet.
EM: I'm 32, shouldn't it have hit me by now? I'm not saying I never want kids, because who knows? I don't want to sound like an idiot, and someday, you'll be like, "Remember when I interviewed you in 2007 and now it's 2008, and you're pregnant with twins?"
