   I used to think Dita was cool back when she was a fetish/burlesque model. Pretty. Yes. Although the stuff she was doing at the time was being done by other women as well. She just happens to be rocognized by the mainstream. My problem is not with her selling out. My problem Is with her lack of artistry. Her burlesque shows, pin-up/fashion pictuers and posing or stripping for innocuous causes add up to nothing less than unoriginal attemps to become famous. But famous for what? Stripping? That's cool and everything but she does strike me as being very full of herself. Has she forgotten that there is an element of camp behind what she does? She walks around believing that she can teach women a thing or two about class. COME ON! Give women more credit. Some of us gals DO remember to put underwear on before getting dressed. We know how to speak softly, seduce men and be glamorous when we feel like it! If I read one more comment on a women being classy because they are Not "Britney" or "Paris", I'm going to scream!!! Anyway, I guess what it is I'm trying to say is… Dita seems very full of herself and desperate, and I think her persona confuses women: old fans and newcomers. Posing on the red carpet and wearing thousand dollar corsets while pushing "Fredricks of Hollywood" just doesn't do it for me.

   I'm not trying to sound bitter. I used to be a true fan.

   My goodness! I am horrified & appalled at the number of mean, nasty and crude remarks posted here! I can see, possibly, guys always looking for tanned "beach babe" making rude comments, but women?! Just what exactly is her pale complexion guilty of? Are you the same people that would say of someone "she's TOO black" to be beautiful? Someone else here did make a point of skin cancer & the history of a white complexion as beauty, which until this century WAS the standard of a lovely woman. But there certainly seems to be a lot of other females who must have some extreme self esteem issues to be as snarky as you are. I have seen dozens of pictures of Dita and I think she looks amazing in all of them. Her classic beauty and clothes sense are an inspiration to ME!
