      Thank you 1000 times Perez for putting it so succinctly- some people here just can't understand how hypocritical it is for celebs to bitch about the paparazzi when they CHOOSE to patronize these kinds of restaurants. There are thousands of other places they could go to, with equally-good if not better food, but no, they somehow find themselves COMPELLED to go the same few places.

      When I was pregnant I craved the same food every day - veal scallopini from a little restaurant in the city… that's where I went every day for about 2 months and my poor hubby had to come along and put up with it!… anyone who has been preggers will understand that is just the way it is!!..

      They both look totally miserable…as if someone were forcing them to out on this image of a happy couple expecting a baby. Neither one are very good actors at all. I sincerely hope the baby is OK and Nicole hasn't got some bad news. She did drugs for so long. She was anorexic. Who knows how all that affects an unborn child. And Joel looks like he cannot wait to bail. BY the time that baby is six months old, they will be over!!!! If they aren't already. Maybe they just get together for photo ops.

      There's an old Warner Brothers cartoon that starts with a sheepdog and a wolf greeting each other as they punch their time cards. They go to work - the wolf tries over and over to capture sheep, and he sheepdog stops him every time. At the end of the day, the wolf and the dog clock out, saying to each other :see you tomorrow". This exactly describes the papparazi "game" as it is played in Hollywood - the celebs and the paps are locked in a symbolic dependency with each other.

      #46 - What you are saying might make sense if Mr. Chow was known for its exquisite food. But the truth is almost the opposite - since it opened in the '70s, Mr. Chow (both the location in NYC and the one in Beverly Hills) have been noted for mediocre (and worse) food - the New York location got zero stars in the Times review. The restaurant is all about its decor and "scene" and also important is that they cater to celebs in a big way (no waits, relaxation of the dress code, secluded seating areas, staying open after normal hours, stuff like that).
