Heaven help us all!

Paula Abdul has a new boyfriend - bless his heart - and she is now announcing that she wants to have kids.

Of having babies, the crazy Abdul says, "That's the next step in my life. Definitely within the next two years. I thought by now I'd have three grown children."

The American Idol judge is 45.

She says she plans to explore fertility options, which she'll need. "With modern medicine, people are having kids in their 40s and even up until their late 40s," says Paula. "In their 50s, they're having their second child. If it doesn't happen naturally like that, I would always consider adopting."

Just what the world needs, mini-Paulas running around!

      We waited too long and get preggers was a total pain/roller coaster…Hopefully she has educated herself on how hard it is to get pregnant - especially after 42…We would have done it way sooner - knowing what we know now…seriously. It's a maze of journey and can be riddled with pain and heartache…good luck Paula.

      I am 43 y.o. with no children, and definitely feel I am past that point of having them. But I guess if I was loaded and could dump them on nannies, housekeepers, etc.. then it might be a more appealing venture (nah, not really).

      no other pressing issues except being a mother can occur. I had my
      first baby at 20 and was delighted with her, but very nervous. I had my
      last baby at 35 and people used to come up to me and comment on how
      calm I was. Wisdom comes with age, and with today's medicine, women

      what Paula doesn't realize or isn't telling everybody is that none of these women over 45 are using their own eggs! It's hard enough to sustain a first-time pregnancy after 40, but nearly impossible to have a healthy baby at 45 or 47 with your own eggs. She is spreading misinformation. Science isn't magic people! If you want your own bio kids, you either should have them before 40 or freeze some egss when you're younger to use later. I doubt she's done this.

      #79, no one is saying it is impossible. But for every woman over 45 who succeeds, there are far more who don't. And women who have had children before don't fall into this category. The more children the more months you have not sustained egg loss so you have more eggs available. Holly Hunter had her first children, a pair of twin boys, just a few weeks before her 48th birthday. It's possible, but it is more probable that it 45 is too late.

      fertility at 45 is a pipedream. It happens but it is EXTREMELY rare. The old ladies you see having kids in their mid to late 40's are all using donor eggs….they just don't tell you that. They pick a donor with similar features to their own so you will think the kid is theirs (example….that red headed chick from Desperate Housewives—she most certainly picked a red headed donor). I hate it when I see/hear women say they will get pregnant later in life ’cause, well, "so-and-so did". As someone else already stated….they are in for a rude awakening.

      Better start baby shopping in Africa or China Paula…..save yourself the heartache and all the money you will throw down the drain for fertility treatments. Even the very best of those clinics are all too willing to take your money and sell you the dream when they themselves know it's not gonna happen for you.

      Go straight to a Donor Egg Clinic Paula. You can get pregnant within the next 2 months. That's how I did it. It's great! It's easy! You flip thru a photo album of the 20-something girls that are doing the donating. It would be nice if you had a steady guy though. to help you raise the little one.       Time for a biology lesson. No woman is biologically younger than her chronological age. When a baby girl is born she is born with all the eggs she will ever have. Hence, Paula's eggs are 45 years old. Even if Paula does enter menopause in her 50s, her eggs are old and she runs all the risks of birth defects that this entails. And I can't agree more with all the folks who talked about how unnatural the use of donor eggs is. Your body is perfection. There are reasons that a woman at 45 has difficulty conceiving and carrying to term. If you are going to use medical science to defy your body's good sense, that's your business. But don't talk about it publicly like it is a natural process and as simple as coloring your hair.
