I love Regina…but I liked the original version of this song and the original video better. I think she does have a quirkiness about her that is similar to Tori…both of them are great. As far as Regina being "this decade's Tori Amos," I think you're right. Nothing against Tori - she is still going strong and putting out wonderful music, but Regina is kind of the new quirky musician for the recent years. Tori will never be replaced though.

I've listened to every song on every album Regina's released, as well as all of Tori's and Fiona Apple's. I don't find any similarities so blatant that you could say she is "copycat" of anyone from a musical standpoint. I agree with Perez, she, to me anyways, is this decade's Tori. I got the same feeling discovering Regina's music as I did with Tori's years ago. I hadn't ever gotten that feeling with anyone else's music, and they both mean alot to me. Tori's lucky to have such diehard fans, who seem like they'd rip your eyes out if you were to say anything that could be taken as an insult to her, but I think they all need to take a deep breath and just appreciate the music!

I love Regina Spektor. Her songs are unique and have a way of capturing what your feeling…..
This video makes me like the song more, though it still in my "bugs me" column for this album (as opposed to the "was pathetically obsessed with and still love"). It seems like it's a reference to The Little Prince, which she's pretty into given the "Baobabs" song on the same album. Anyway at one point he goes into a rose garden and cries because he understands his wasn't unique, until later on that it is the time he has wasted for his rose that made her important, not how perfect she was. As good an excuse to start kissing anyone as I can think of, given that in doing so you've got either inflicting or experiencing psychological torment to look forward to.

I'm seeing Regina in Detroit Oct. 10th! SO EXCITED. I've already seen her once… she was AMAZING live. She isn't anywhere close to Tori Amos, who is a musical prodigy. Regina's song complete lacks the song writing and vocal mastery that Tori exhibits in her work. This song is repetitive and unorginial. You should try learning a wee bit more about music.

i just watched past the mission after many years. and there is definitely a similarity only tori's video is much lovelier and more meaningful. things used to be like that more. now it's construction a series of intriguing images without human–real human interactions. you should watch past the mission.

No One does it like Tori. You don't hear about Regina being the youngest person to attend the Peabody Conservatory or starting to play piano at age 2. Tori is a genius. A prodigy. She has a true gift when she puts her hands on the piano. Regina is mediocre at best. She has like two other songs where she sing that 'betta, betta, betta" bullshit in it.
