He claims a paparazzo was following him.

It was reported on this morning news that he was being chased by the Pappz since he lfet his home to go to his AA meeting, they wouldn't leave him have space on the road. he finally stopped his motorcycle (NOT crashed) & told them off & to leave him alone. he went back home to get his car so he can make it to the meeting & to have privacy. But that didn't happen, they still followed him till he tood a detour & lost them.

As someone in a 12-step program, I find your "are we sure he was drunk?" comment to be irresponsible. I enjoy your site (for the most part) but here you crossed a line. It's insanity to think someone, especially someone high-profile such as Urban, would show up at an AA meeting drunk or under the influence of any substance. You think that would escape notice of people in the meeting and he wouldn't be called on it…? Or that it wouldn't leak to the media? I know it's speculation but it's also common sense. Motorcycle accidents DO happen. Two months ago, my AA sponsor (who has four yearfs sober) was hit on his motorcycle on the way to and from an AA meeting TWICE within six weeks. (He has since sold his motorcycle and bought a Lexus. My sponsor was in a motorcycle accident, not because he was loaded, it's because LA drivers (and drivers in most urban areas) are idiots. When someone is out of control with substances, you attack them, and rightly so. On the flip side, when a celeb is in recovery and/or in a 12-step program, you hit them with snide, unfounded allegations…it's a no-win situation you've created for the celebrity. It's not amusing, it's not fair and it's really ugly and mean-spirited. While we're on the subject of 12-step programs, have you considered Overeaters Anonymous?

Last night Urban said he was being followed by a photographer at the time of the crash but that was not the cause of the accident.
"While out riding to an AA meeting, a time when my privacy is especially important to me, I felt myself being pursued," Urban said in a statement last night.
"I sped up, and in an effort to elude an oncoming car which was making an illegal U-turn, saw no choice but to drop my bike.
"In actual fact my pursuer came to my assistance, without taking photos, and helped me from the road. I returned home, got my car, and continued on my way."

If you look back, Keith is one of the ONLY celebrities that ever came out publicly about his disease and how he was about to enter rehab.
