The actor, who attempted to take his life this summer, surprised everyone by showing up at the LA premiere of his new film, the Wes Anderson-directed The Darjeeling Limited, on Thursday night.

Poor fella. He's still looking beat as hell.

Rather than knocking him (unfairly) for how he looks (and I think he looks fine, particularly considering the circumstances), my God, the man was at the breaking point not so long ago and now is trying to find his way back. Not one person in Hollywood has a complaint about that man. He has always been a consumate professional, always showed up on the sets on time, and never with an arrogant attitude. He's not some dumb retard out there partying and begging for attention from the paparazzi all the time, like a lot of young dumb celebs are these days. He may just be a comedian, but he does excellent work, and his movies are for the most part really great! I was shocked and saddned to hear that he tried to commit suicide. And I couldn't believe some of the postings I saw on here from people, having absolutely no sympathy for the man, and virtually ripping him to shreds! I pray that he recovers from his ills, and truly gets better, and gets back on the right foot. If anybody deserves it, it's him. And I want to thank you personally (Spike) for always having the courage to write about what's right, and not just what's popular. Some people are just so heartless on here!
