good for her. i remember when oksana won in 1994. it's the most watched bit of the olympics ever due to the nancy kerrigan and tonya harding sleazefest. tonya was a big ho, nancy was an unfriendly jockette, and the french and chinese girls were cold fish, so when oksana won after getting hurt on the ice right before and having a terrible life in every way except skating, it really made me happy. i was 14 years old then and she was 16, so i knew i couldn't start out by then, but she was the hero of my changing pubescent brain. oksana will always be in my heart.
to continue, everyone that says oksana is a has been should check if there's an open beer bottle or empty chip bag within ten feet of themselves. her family in ukraine was all drunk trash, her coaches ran her like a workhorse, and her back gave out before she'd finished her teens. i'd hit the bottle if i'd peaked before 20. no one wants to see an athlete after its all over. actually, oksana is rather hot, always was, has been seemingly sober recently, and does lots of charitable work as well as pro skating. that outfit kind of stinks, but she'll always have gold. yay!

At the age of 17 she bought her first home with her winnings from skating. This women truly had a verydifficult life. Her father abandoned her when she was 2. She lived with her mother and grandparents. Her mother died wen she was 13. She moved in with her coach and the rest is history. I have aways admired her even though she seemed so lost and went through some out of control behavior.

Oksana took off on the wrong edge on one of her jumps and didn't receive the proper deduction, Nancy totally won that gold medal and if you remember the two were actually tied as far as score, but Oksana won because judges assigned a "1" or "2" ranking subjectively to each skater and Oksana got more "1"s than Nancy. SUCH BULLSHIT! Do you think that secretly, deep down inside, Oksana knows she didn't really deserve that gold medal and that's why she's a complete and utter mess? We all know that figure skating was fixed and that's how the little urchin got her medal… Nancy was robbed but thank the lord she's actually a healthy, normal person and Oksana is… a mess!
