Actually the Phillipines has a history of sending people to prison for saying anything derogatory about the government. Most of these prisoners are probably simple political sympathizers..

You better read up on Philippine current affairs. The Philippines has one of the more liberal press systems in Southeast Asia. People can speak for or against the government. Just watch the evening newscasts and the public affairs programs. Or you can check the Philippine newspapers online.
This is a regular prison. The prisoners are serving time for crimes ranging for selling drugs to rape to murder.

do they do this as a sort of rehabilitation? i think it is better than having them sit around all day long …. and if they do the stereo type of nothing but lifting weights as their form of exercise …then i think this is much better …. they have a goal ….i don't know why they are in there and i don't condone whatever it is they did… but i think its a good way to get these guys on better tracks…. thats just my opinion
Re: Laura Elaien Wilson – Maybe you should be the one who should do a little research. Our prisons generally don't condone "killing" of any kind just to let the inmates participate. Maybe you should have researched about Filipinos and you'll realize that the race resort to "fun" in times of depression. Even families (with around 12 members) who earn a measly $1 per day have fun through dancing, singing and other activities that don't require money. Really, you are the stupid one. These are just a bunch of inmates having fun, having their exercise and a dose of Vit. D through dancing. It's also a way of controlling diseases and generally making them more hygienic. Oh, adds a little discipline to them too. Inmates are allowed to have fun after all. Dipsh*t.
I think you guys have to understand that with the terrible judicial process in the Philippines, most of the prisoners there in there for crimes that they did not commit.. and prisons in the Philippines focus on rehabilitation and not isolation from the rest of society.

Go Cebuanos!!! I'm from Cebu (Philippines, where the CPDRC jail is located) and this is as big a hit as Prison Break can ever be! This is actually a good thing for these prisoners, because they earn money by performing! You can actually watch these guys for a fee (i.e. school/company field trips/excursions) and the money goes into each of the dancer's bank account so that BY THE TIME THEY WILL *EVER* GET OUT of jail, they won't be stealing or killing for money… MAKES SENSE, right? Mabuhay ang Pilipinas! Proud to be Pinoy! ^_^

I level with some of you: they're in jail because of what they did. But I challenge many people to spend an hour and visit the prisons, wherever you are, whoever you are, and talk to somebody, and really get to know what their situation is like. Even if these people have done heinously evil things (like many of them here have), they're people too.
And it's heartening to see that they get their exercise! And how it's fun. And yes, fun in a prison helps make sure inmates don't get all violent. So they become well-adjusted when they get out!

killers, murderers,rapists, drug dealers that's what all these fools are nothing good i agree with some people that say there could be a few that might be innocent but look at all those prisioners. that's why all the women go to korea or japan to work as prostitutes because there men are all in jail. then get marry to our american soliders that they meet at the bars making them think that they love them but is not that simple these putas charge 20$ for a little bitty shot glass full of orange juice then they talk to the drunk ass soliders. thse girls don't fucken love them there just in for the money nothing but dirty gold diggers full of diseases infecting our soliders then these guys come back to america to there wifes and girlfriends and get them infected. and they eventually end up here in the usa with no problems at all. they get there visa in less than 3 years. this shit pisses me off theres hard working, educated people that wait more than 13 and the family to get a visa and these bitches in no more than 3 is sad and unfair.so bad they just use these men.and i feel bad for them cause all these sluts end up sleeping around with all kinds of people is so disgusting these girls are truly disgusting short,dark, and not very pretty.
