The really exciting news is that we are actually going to get to meet some of you personally. Everyone who buys a Ticket after registering on our site will also get entered into a draw for a chance to meet us personally. Twenty people will be picked at random to come and join us back stage at one of our NEW YORK gigs.

The reason it was a big deal is not so much because they were coming back but because only a limited number of people were going to get to see it.
So basically they are going to tour every day for about 4 years like Rod Stewart and it won't be special anymore.

Although it was pretty obvious this was going to happen. Certain bands do that on purpose to make themselves look in demand. They announce about 3 shows when they know full well they need about 10. So they are spaced wide apart. Then they act surprised and "have to" "fill in" more dates inbetween so they get upto about 2 solid weeks of touring which is reasonable for most bands and not at all impressive.
i'm totally going to an NYC show!
