Clearly, their gene pool has been mixed with non-European blood (Arab, African, etc.) from the period of Islamic rule to the flow of non-whites into Spain during the colonial period and thereafter. This is confirmed by genetic studies showing a high (and increasing) proportion of non-European genes in the Spanish population. They're a mixed people just like the Latinos in the Americas. I think there is no further discussion. 2nd: What happens if spanish are black or blue or green or white? however the fact is they are white. Average spanish has brown hair and brown eyes, like in Greece, Italy or France. North and east europe is different. SPAIN IS EUROPE! And don´t talk about south american countries as if they were all the same cause each of them has a different culture, different accents…they are different countries for god's sake!! and there are many many differences with Spain in many ways. Spain has a clear auropean culture and is just as latin as probably italians.

Generally speaking (there are always exceptions) they look different, they live differently and the even speak the language very differently. Spaniards are (and look) more similar to French (particularly in the southern half), Italians and Greeks.

American's have not made the English language sound better. It just sounds different. We speak our version of it. Same with Spanish. South/Central American countries speak the language because of Spain not the other way around making it impossible for Spain to have butchered it. They spoke it first. Every Spanish speaking country speak's the language it's own way and that's a beautiful thing. I'm not saying Castilian Spanish is better I'm saying it was first.
