Britney Spears's new album, Blackout, is being released early. Her label, Jive Records, has announced that they are pushing up the release date to October 30th.
Will it be a trick or a treat?

The official reason being given for the change is "internet leaks." A label rep tells People:
"Due to these numerous unauthorized online leaks, the label is doing everything possible to prevent and avoid any further illegal distribution of songs including moving up the release date of the album to Oct. 30."
Wethinks the real reason that the album is being moved is that the record was originally slated to come out on November 13th, the same day as Celine Dion's hotly anticipated new record, which is expected to do quite well.
Both albums are being released on labels owned by Sony BMG and they probably didn't want Britney to look bad when Celine outsold her.
We've heard almost all the songs on Brit Brit's new album.

I think it'll be alright, they probably don’t want her to release her album on the same day because the label will have way too much pr shit to do. In a way she can release the album whenever she wants, look at all the publicity she's getting now, no thanks to PEREZ. First off, learn English. Secondly, Celine's last English album was One Heart. It was pure shit but sold over 6 million copies. I've listened to a lot of the songs on the new album, and I actually really like it. Gimme more is so drool (and I generally like Gimme More) compared to most of the other songs I've heard. I especially like "Radar" and I LOVE "Piece of Me" The thing about the type of music Britney makes, is that it's not background music. It works at club or in the car when you're on a road trip and want to sing to pass the time, but I don't think I would ever come home and put it on so I could mellow out and read a book, you know? It's for getting excited, dancing, and singing.
