"I just feel horrible for [Britney Spears]. You know, she’s got a disease. And when you have a disease, you cannot help it. So it’s not your fault, but you’re responsible for it. I just feel so bad for her because I don’t think anybody really understands what’s going on. The way the press is now, she’s getting so much attention. Somebody said to me the other day, 'God, you have to go to jail to get a good review.' It’s an interesting period. They used to have clauses and contracts where you can’t get bad publicity or you’d get fired. But now bad publicity is good publicity. I just keep working and don’t think about it much.

      If Britney had a disease there's no way she'd be able to pass several drug tests and stay drug free COLD TURKEY…if she was an actual addict she wouldnt be able to be FULLY ACTIVE every single day since then and appear to be in the exact same spirits.       you can be a weekend drunk, you can be sober for long periods of time (depending on your incentive…like seeing your babies), but, just like a mosquito bite, the urge to self medicate rears its ugly head, and the addict just has to scratch it! You are blinded by your loyalty, and it is misplaced. I don't think that's all that's going on here…she would, in the "real world", have a "dual diagnosis"…mental illness and substance abuse…either one will make having her children full time a challenge…for her and those around her.

      It's not a disease, Liza. It's an ADDICTION. Get it right. No one forced drugs and alcohol down her throat. God, I had addicts sometimes. They call their addictions diseases so they can justify having them. They say, "It's not my fault! It's a disease! I can't help myself!" No, a DISEASE is cancer, MS or AIDs. Calling addiction a disease belittles all the suffering really sick people go through on a daily basis.

      BTW, how can Liza say in one sentence that it's not Brit's fault but that she has to take responsiblity for it? Hello! You take responsibility for yourself and your mistakes. Hence, she CAN help the things she does. She just refuses to stop.

      Britney does have a mental illness though. It's quite obvious. In that she's truly sick. But I think it was caused originally by her doing way too many drugs. She killed her own brain cells and now we all have to deal with the consequences.

      Liza knows what she's talking about. She battled alcohol and pills.
      The doctor's will damn sure keep you on them to keep you coming
      back. Meanwhile, your bones get ruined and spots form on your
      liver and you die at a few young age. Britney, given her age, probably won't be able to stop drinking and doing drugs. That's all the world seems to know these days. Love Liza, by the way and her mommy.

      I remember an interview that Liza's x-husband did talking about how Liza would hit him on top of the head when she was drinking.

      Don't get me wrong here..I'm not trashing Liza..I actually think that most men should be hit on the head. I do love Liza..

      My point is that I do believe that Britney hit Kevin and probably even the kids. Alcohol just does that to some people. That's why

      i gotta say i get angry when i hear people say that drugging and drinking is a disease, no it's not, u CHOOSE to put those substances in your system, now me…i have rheumatoid arthritis, THAT is a diesease, something i woke up with, something i can't control, you can get addicted to those substances but it's far from a disease, my grandfather and father were both alchoholics, but it didn't affect me, i barely drink, i also suffer from depression, again an actual disease, and being someone that has experience, i can clearly see, that britney is not right in her head, she clearly is having psychological problems and someone should PHYSICALLY DRAG her ass to a shrink, it's more than drugs and alchohol!!! she clearly can't make decisions on her own, so this is the point, where mom needs to step in and make brit do this shit!!! as much as i feel that she's doing this all to herself, i just can't bring myself to hate on her, i don't know i guess it's cuz i have a heart and a soul, and she's in my prayers!! i just don't like to see anyone in this kinda position, whether they put themselve there or not, it's sad that the world gets off on seeing people suffer, that's why we live in hell, there is no hell, we're already living in it!!!

      You choose it the first time, if you're lucky, you can continue a normal life without it, if your brain is fucked up, it will hurt you until it gets the chemical again. its a mental illness like depression, a simple imbalance of chemicals. like any other disease, it needs treatment. A diabetic may have spent a lifetime eating sugar laden foods and now has the disease caused by that lifestyle. Diabetics are never ridiculed lie alcoholics.
