In response to Britney's request for an emergency court hearing to ask for more custody of her sons, Kevin Federline's lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, released the following statement exclusively to PerezHilton.com:
"The fact that a party, one week after a full court hearing, attempts to change the orders of the court, in the absence of an emergency or without any new facts, suggests a continued lack of respect and understanding for what an order of the court actually means."

MY thoughts… how can 1 week make such a HUGE difference in the eyes of the court.. shouldn't they see a pattern frist ( positive changes ) before the just allow her to have overnight visitations?? Also, I agree with another poster: this is an expected move on Britney's part. Any mother would try to do what they could to get their kids back as soon as possible, and it doesn't have anything to do with disrespect for the court. People are right: she didn't take the judge's rulings seriously, she didn't sign the court order (perhaps because she didn't agree with it), she didn't agree to the stipulation that a parenting coach be available during visitation, she didn't show up for one drug test, she drove without a license, etc., and ultimately that is why her children were took away. In other words, she pulled a Paris; she thought they couldn't do this to her because she's "Britney Spears, dammit," but now Paris, Nicole, Lindsay, and Britney can all realize that they are not immune to prosecution. So now I do believe she has recognized, albeit the hard way, that she'd better get her shit together if she hopes to get her children back. It appears that she is now trying to cooperate with the judge's orders, and I wish her luck.

His lawyer releasing a statement to PEREZ weakens his case and for this, Britney SHOULD get the overnight visitations. She lost her kids not because of drugs but because she didn't do what she needed to do in a timely fashion. Everything is in order and she's doing what she needs to do. She should get overnight stays until she (hopefully) regains her kids. Kaplan is a joke and speaking to Perez Hilton confirms it. Britney clean up your act for good so you can take the kids for good. When Kevin gets a job and stops trying to live off people then maybe he'll be a decent human to me. But he never showed interest in those boys until his MONEY got cut off. He then saw his chance to get them when Britney went through a breakdown.
What I can't understand is WHY everyone thinks kevin is the bad guy in this?? Sure he is a big f*ck-up for leaving SHAR at 8months pregnant for Britney but other than going out with his boys and smoking his weed..what has he really done??

My friend went to their Wedding ( male ) and it's funny how people don't even know the real deal. Britney has been and always will be WHITE TRASH. Sami(Scotland), it's going to take longer than a week for Britney to comply fully with the court order. She can't just pass a drug test and have 1 good visit with her kids and a monitor present. It doesn't work that way. She has to fulfill all of the court ordered stipulations over a period of time, probably months. Britney is basically demanding a court hearing today and will ask the judge for more of what she's not allowed to have just yet, without significant progress being made on her behalf. It's only been a week and she will need time to prove herself. Kfed's attorney basically says that for her and her attorneys to even attempt this 1 week after the hearing is a slap to the judge and system. It's disrespectful and shows that she's not interested in doing what she really needs to do to get her kids back. She obviously wants to get this over with in Britney's time and in Britney's way and she probably still thinks that what she's doing is okay, but obviously the court does not. I would not be the least bit surprised if the judge not only tells her a big fat no today, but also gives her more stipulations just to piss her off and teach her a lesson.
Kaplan a WEEK after the custody hearing that gave Britney and KFed shared custody went back in to court and demanded KFed sole custody. IS THAT A LACK OF RESPECT TO THE COURT SYSTEM, ALSO, KAPLAN??? Kaplan and KFed are jerks. I just pray the nanny loves the boys as the parents totally suck. I wish Britney and the courts would give Lynne Spears custody of them.

What about the fact that the judge has ordered the lawyers not to discuss the case with the public? What about the fact that there is to be no backlashing each other. I really don't feel Kevin's Lawyer is following the judges orders.

The father is the best parent to be responsible for the daily care of the children. if Britney gets professional help and gets on some sort of mediaction to prevent her mood swings and can provide a safe enviornment for the boys then that is about as good as you are gonna get it with her. She is a very selfish person. She will always put her own desires first, thats what she does. I think they should live with Dad and visit with Mom every 1st,3rd and 5th weekend. This Kaplan guy seems to love the media attention…he loves to issue statements to just about anyone that would give him a second of their time…but the truth is that her attorneys know the law…they know what to advise their client and if they felt they had a shot at this…they would present the case to the judge and that is final. She wants to be with her kids. Regardless of her situation, whether a week into the order or not, she is their mother. Many would not agree but his statement has no point to me. By going to court she is not saying that she is above the law…she just wants to see more of kids.

Kaplan is 100% right. Britney does not understand the seriousness of what is going on in court right now. She is either the dumbest person on earth or the most self-centered person on earth - or probably both. I still feel sorry for her but not too much, if I had her money and resources, I would have cleaned up my act long ago. My question has been, why did she get married and have kids and then turn around and divorce and lose the kids? A family isn't something you can wear for a while and throw away, like a dress. Hi everyone. What kind of drugs is brit taking? I think lollipops are associated with Ecstacy. Someone out there has to know and to have seen and partied with her. Also, could you tell me where to view the pictures of her partying with complete strangers (girls), where she switches clothes? I heard there are pictures or a video of her actually doing drugs. Also, can you all imagine how scary it must be for two little kids surrounding by crowds, screaming photogs, and flashbulbs? How about how dangerous it is for her to be driving with all this kaos, barely able to see or maneuver her car. It is unsafe for her kids and anyone elses in close proximity. I can't imagine what the kids in her neighborhood must think and how it effects those poor people. Why can't she just consider other people's feelings and what her celebrity is doing to others lives. Does anyone out there believe this is post partum depression? Where is her family? I haven't seen any photos in weeks of her brother, sister, mother, until a few days ago. They truly have a responsibility to protect her family and her community, no matter how they feel personally about brit. Her family needs to step up now, and should have a long time ago. How could they allow that poor girl to embarrass herself and endanger her kids. Shame on you britney's family.
