Macedonian pop star Tose Proeski passed away on Tuesday after suffering a horrible car crash in Croatia.
The singer, whose fan base rivals that of Madonna in the Balkans, died almost instantly when his car collided with a truck near the town of Nova Gradiska.
Proeski was the most beloved teen pop idol in Macedonia, even representing his country in the Eurovision song contest in 2004. He was also a UNICEF ambassador.
Wednesday has been called a day of national mourning in Macedonia.

And @ people wondering who he is: go to wikipedia, search for Eurovision Song Conest, read about it and then 2004 competition. Eurovision is the biggest music event in the world and only a true superstar would be voted to go there by their country. Tose is mostly famous in Europe because of that, but he was a major star in multiple countries before that. A lost we will remember forever ;(

Tose was the best FYROM singer, he had an angel voice, he was kind and cute! We cant believe that he is gone… If you see the video from the spot of the accident, you ll see that the only side of the huge VW Touareg which was destroyed, smashed, it was the side where Proeski was siting, next to the driver. The driver who fell asleep and the manager of the 26 y.o. survived… loved u TOSE!!! that was your destiny…

RIP Tose, you were truly a legend. This is a very sad day for the people of former Yugoslavia. Tose was, unlike anyone before him, able to reunite the people of former Yugoslavia using only his talents. We were able to put politcs aside and focus on music insted. He will be remembered for his amazing talents and love of music. He leaves behind a legacy.
