He Still Looks Drunk!

a77357292.jpg

We're not sure if he's giving the "thumbs up" to let us know that he's OK or to order another drink!

David Hasselhoff (with one of his daughters) made a surprise appearance at the Christian Audigier Spring/Summer '08 show during LA fashion week on Tuesday night.

The Hoff, a recovering alcoholic, was hospitalized, just last week for relapsing. It was so severe that he needed to detox under the supervision of medical professionals.

But, now it's back to famewhoring!

Shit. Why wasn't Owen Wilson there too????

whatever he's doing with the thumbs up, it's probably not a good idea for him to be out partying so soon after being hospitalized.

He is NOT a recovering alcoholic. A recovering alcoholic has to be in recovery. He is a drunk right NOW!! When and only when he embrasses a program and works that program every day to be healthy sober and honest can he claim recovery. He insults every person who is in recovery when he claims relapse. Those of us who work every moment of every day to be in recovery need to hold him accountable for putting recovery in a bad light. GET HELP!! You are a crisis waiting to happen to someone else. YOU ARE A DRUNK!

DNA pioneer's theory: Africans are less intelligent than Westerners
Celebrated scientist attacked for race comments: "All our social policies are based on the fact that their intelligence is the same as ours - whereas all the testing says not really"
    By Cahal Milmo
    Published: 17 October 2007
One of the world's most eminent scientists was embroiled in an extraordinary row last night after he claimed that black people were less intelligent than white people and the idea that "equal powers of reason" were shared across racial groups was a delusion.
James Watson, a Nobel Prize winner for his part in the unravelling of DNA who now runs one of America's leading scientific research institutions, drew widespread condemnation for comments he made ahead of his arrival in Britain today for a speaking tour at venues including the Science Museum in London.
The 79-year-old geneticist reopened the explosive debate about race and science in a newspaper interview in which he said Western policies towards African countries were wrongly based on an assumption that black people were as clever as their white counterparts when "testing" suggested the contrary. He claimed genes responsible for creating differences in human intelligence could be found within a decade.

Re: White Man – The newly formed Equality and Human Rights Commission, successor to the Commission for Racial Equality, said it was studying Dr Watson's remarks " in full". Dr Watson told The Sunday Times that he was "inherently gloomy about the prospect of Africa" because "all our social policies are based on the fact that their intelligence is the same as ours – whereas all the testing says not really". He said there was a natural desire that all human beings should be equal but "people who have to deal with black employees find this not true".
His views are also reflected in a book published next week, in which he writes: "There is no firm reason to anticipate that the intellectual capacities of peoples geographically separated in their evolution should prove to have evolved identically. Our wanting to reserve equal powers of reason as some universal heritage of humanity will not be enough to make it so."
The American scientist earned a place in the history of great scientific breakthroughs of the 20th century when he worked at the University of Cambridge in the 1950s and 1960s and formed part of the team which discovered the structure of DNA. He shared the 1962 Nobel Prize for medicine with his British colleague Francis Crick and New Zealand-born Maurice Wilkins

    Re: JC
Well, I thought you'd like to know, that people that are in AA have relapsed before, and it's not an embarassment to the program. Slip-ups happen.. I've been in the program for 5 years and I've slipped three times.. And I've never been called an embarassment to AA. Just because he's a celeb makes him an embarassment? Shit happens, people fuck up in their recovery.. But the rooms will always welcome him back with open arms, whether or not he relapsed 1 time or a million times.

I used to have this friend who always relapsed and would go into hospitals all the time after a drunken binge…..then get out and start drinking again, rehab never worked….her liver was wasted away and she died at 45…The Hoff better wake up before he messes up his liver for good….he knows want he has to do, now let's see how bad he wants life or alcohol.

I don't think it counts as "recovering" alcoholic if you're being DT'd. I think that might actually be the antithesis of "recovering".

  43. jc says – reply to this

    43

Re: S.D. – Well I thought you'd like to know, that I never said embarrassed I said embraced. If you have "slipped up" three times in five years, you are not in recovery, you are in denial. You need to re-evaluate your commitment to the AA process. Relapse is not a part of recovery. Relapse is part of a person in the disease of an addiction. The rooms will always welcome you back is a copout. We who are addicts always struggle with the choice of sobriety and recoery is not perfect, but before you can claim recovery you have to first get honest about the disease. GET EDUCATED BEFORE YOU RELAPSE AGAIN!
