I'm mexican and i tried bone marrow when i was a little kid, they use it on soups (caldos) with vegetables and meat, they cook the meat with the bone and when it's cooked you suck the bone marrow from the center of the bone. I personally don't like it, the noise it makes when sucked is disgusting, but my mom and my aunts love it, they eat it on tortillas.
I think we ought to stop critizising each other's cultures. It's not right to talk about something that you don't even know. Stop thinking that YOUR culture and YOUR believes are the RIGHT ones. We all have different opinions, and each and every one of them is valuable

This may be an assumption, but I am figuring that you have probably had a beef stew or jell-o at least once. Beef stew gets it flavour from bone marrow, and jell-o is made from pig marrow. It's illegal to consume human in the Philippines, and you eat pig which is not only a more dirty animal than dogs, but also is considered a pet to many people. A couple of other questions - WHAT THE HELL DO YOU PEOPLE GET FED OVER THERE, grainy bone marrow? the only time I have grainy marrow is if the finer parts of the bone break away, in which case you have bone matter in your marrow - it's not the marrow itself.

I'm from Paris and we eat that kind of stuff all the time. Another delicacy is boiled pig intestines with the shit still in it. The more packed it is with poop the more prized. You boil it until the stench is almost unbearable and it is ready to explode. Then you carefully remove from the pot using tongs, if you use a fork you may pop it. You then chill for 2 hours or until firm. Its great served by itself or on crackers or a nice hearty sour dough bread. You Americans simply don't know what you're missing.

Actually, medical science has proven that cravings (even while pregnant) have nothing to do with lack of nutrition. If that were the case, I (a person who detests seafood) would constantly crave Omega 3's, but I don't.

Sounds interesting. Im always up for trying any food once or twice. Im pretty sick of all the usual foods that are shoved down our throats here in the US? No pun intended) ANd have started exploring the large world of food on my own a bit more.
