I'm not even a giant fan of Seinfeld, but I understand what it did for American Television. As arrogant as he may sound here, Jerrrooooome has a point. He really does. Because if you look at that series and break it down by episode, you could, in theory, pick up the show at any point and not have to worry about what happened in previous episodes; each one functioned as a separate piece. There were very few running storylines that carried over episodes and the fact that this show didn't rely upon those tradition standards and had enough material to continue that pattern truly does cement this sitcom as one of the best.

Cocky or not, homeboy's earned the right to make that statement. He's correct.

He's absolutely right. There have been NO good sitcoms since his show went off the air. He's not being arrogant at all; any objective person would say the same thing. His show revolutionized the format and did something new with it, and they did it well and it made people laugh. New ideas are always a good thing. The dozens of other sitcoms that simply copy old formats are boring and forgettable and will not be remembered for long when they leave the air.

He's right, Seinfeld was a TRUE comedy. you never saw Elaine heartbroken over jerry or some after school special moment. Like that all-white-no-ethnic-people-even-in NY-city-background Friends: Ross likes Rachel then Rachel likes Ross back and forth basically copying the sexual tension from Cheers w/ Sam, Diane and Kirsty Alley's character. I love The Office but was so annoyed when Pam and Jim started doing that same crap for 2 years. I just wanted to yell 'do it already!' Bump uglies and then see if you still want to be with each other.
