Broadway Legend Ailing

Robert Goulet is hospitalized in Los Angeles and in critical condition.

The actor is in need of a new lung or he will likely die.

Goulet has been diagnosed with Interstitial Pulmonary Fibrosis, a rare but rapidly progressive and fatal condition.

    This is terrible news, I can only add my heartfelt wishes that Mr Goulet gets his new lung. I've signed my donor card and everyone else should too. I know he is a strong person, and he has done so much for charity in his life that I hope the goodness comes back to him now!

    Robert Goulet is known for being a Broadway actor and singer in Camelot. He was married to singer Carol Lawrence. He was always a silver voiced and elegant man. Hope for the best. :)

    my father DIED of this exact same disease. he was younger, and had less health issues than robert goulet. how is it that my father was turned down for a lung transplant after waiting months for a response, but this man is not only approved, but getting on a list immediately? i'll tell you how. MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!! apparently because robert goulet has more money than my father did, his life is worth more. god bless fucking america!!!!!!!!!!

    A pneumonectomy won't help and he's not a good candidate for a transplant. I've taken care of several of these patients in the last 5 yrs. Thay all smoked, all of them. Hope he's comfortable, and pray for Goulet. Remind me not to be too harsh, pls, because he did it to himself, you know,(and that's what really hurts)

    Yeah, my dad died of this last summer. Must be nice to have all that $$ to get a lung since he's way OLDER then the transplant age limit.
    FYI:
    Pulmonary Fibrosis sucks. It's the hardening of your lungs until basically you suffocate to death.
    If he's in critical condition, he's probably not conscious & on a ventalator….

    My mom is suffering from the same disease — never smoked a day in her life. And I agree — it's hard to see someone you love suffer so much. She's tough and she's been diagnosed with IPF for over three years, but not giving up on living. It's amazing what hope, courage, and love will do. Hang in there, Goulet…

    Re: Helllo, nurse! – You really need to get your facts straight, my Grandfather, and Aunt died from this and neither had smoked a DAY IN THEIR LIFE!!!, I have 2 more uncles who possibly have it, and they too NEVER SMOKED!!! ANYONE can get this. It is a fast acting disease that will basically form a "web like structure" around your lungs till you can't breath, and you suffocate to death.

    My prayers are with Mr. Goulet's family in their difficult time of need.

    I am very sorry to hear about Mr. Goulet's condition, however,
    I think it is bullshit that at his age he could get a lung transplant. My Father died of the same condition he has and he was 68 when he passed, and the quacks all said that he was too old to be on the lung transplant list..what the hell, why is one human being more important than another..I am PISSED!!
    All because of the fricken green shit it is said you can live longer than the other guy!!! SCREW THAT!!!!!!!!

    Interstitial Pulmonary Fibrosis is no joke. When a person has ILD, the lung is affected in three ways. First, the lung tissue experiences damage in some way. Then the walls of the air sacs in the lung become inflamed. Finally, scarring begins in the interstitium, which is the tissue between the air sacs, and the lung becomes stiff.
    Breathlessness during exercise can be one of the first symptoms. Also, the person may develop a dry cough. Some people just ignore these symptoms and thats a no no.

    In conclusion, it is very painful and deadly. The only thing that doesn't make since is that Robert Goulet is in fact a cyborg robot. This explains why he has been around forever. This is simply a malfunction in his robotics system. A similar model, the Joan Crawford robot, though older, has a better system of noticing that such problems aren't biological diseases or defects. But rather just glitches in its hardware.

    So don't be worried Robert Goulet will be around for a bit longer.
