He may be running as a joke, but Stephen Colbert has thrown a bit of a monkey wrench into the upcoming election.

New polls show the funnyman ahead of some presidential hopefuls as Bill Richardson, Dennis Kucinich and Mike Gravel.

I tried watching his show once but didn't get it? I just didn't get it? Then I saw him on Larry King and it makes sense. He's a comedian and that's why they hired him. But what doesn't make sense is why they hired him? He's one of the most Unfunny people I've ever seen? Not even a little bit funny:( So I guess I'm back to I Don't Get It? Thank you…

Many of the most intelligent human beings are not obsessed with fucking other people over for profit. They are scholars, advocates, activists and scientists….all fields that you are unlikely to become rich in. For some people, helping the human race advance is more important than money. By the way, there are many rich Democrats in Congress who seek to help redistribute the wealth that is becoming more and more concentrated with the ultra-rich. I'm very sad that he is ahead of Richardson. To put Bill Richardson in the same categories as Mike Gravel and Dennis Kucinich is ridiculous. Richardson is an extremely qualified candidate with more experience than Hillary, Barack and Mitt. It's a sad reflection on American politics when a joke candidate scores ahead of a man who was previously a U.S. represantative to the U.N., a congressman, the secretary of Energy, the very successful governor of New Mexico, AND negotiated with Saddam Hussein, North Korean generals, Burmese military leaders, Sudanese President al-Bashir and Fidel Castro (among others).
