Michelle Rodriguez is going to jail for six months for violating her probation and her nine fans are upset about it!
They've started a petition that they're going to send to the frequent drunk driver's judge, hoping he will take leniency on her cuz she's a wonderful human being.
"There is no lesson that Michelle Rodriguez could learn in 180 days that she couldn't learn in 18, or even 8," reads their plea. "We do not believe that the imprisonment of this women is a demonstration of justice nor a fair punishment for her crimes. She is a good person. You were not allowed the opportunity to see Mayte Michelle Rodriguez the human, only the name on a legal document and if anything the "celebrity" name. To us, she is not a celebrity. We do not just support her for her few films or her professional career. We support her as a human being who, flaws included, has demonstrated so much kindness to others."

I have a friend that was in her exact situation and I find it really funny that her fans and all of you ask the judge to go easy on her. Why should they? My friend spent almost a year in jail and will probably never be able to get a drivers license again. Should I have gone into the court room and pleaded for the judge to give him a break? If I did would it have mattered? Probably not. Why does she deserve a break? Because she was on some hit TV show? So what. She obviously didnt care about the consequences of getting one dui after another and violating her probation, probably because she knew she would be given a break. Thats so unfair. Why is it that they don't follow the same laws we do?? And why do you defend people like her? You know nothing about her on a personal level except that she is a lesbian and was on Lost. And yet you all sit here defending her??? So will you defend my friend should the time come up again when he's in court?

I believe that no matter how famous you are, you must pay the consequences for your actions. That's how people learn. It doesn't matter how nice of a person she may be, she made a mistake and should be punished just like everyone else.

She cannot be defended. My husband was in a wheelchair for a year from being hit from behind at a high speed by a repeat drunk driver. He spent two years in the hospital. His life as he knew it — is over. The driver had three DUI's. I want to kill that drunk driver every single day for his callous disregard for other innocent people's lives. It's beyond selfish and stupid. There's no excuse for drinking and driving. It's an easy thing to prevent. DON'T DRIVE WHEN YOU'RE LOADED.

And, statistically proven — those with multiple DUI's usually have serious drinking problems and will drink and drive again.
