He's running for President of the United States, not president of GLAAD. That requires spending time and understanding the point of view of all Americans, not just the ones from one group. Barak Obama has always been outspoken in his support of the gay community. Simply by sharing a stage with someone with unpopular or ignorant viewpoint does not mean that they have them in common. By protesting his involvement, it demonstrates a knee-jerk reaction and attempt to vilify someone without fully examining the issue. Barak Obama has a solid chance at being someone who could help bridge the gap between the gay and black communities, and it is quite a gap. By protesting him at this point is cutting off your nose to spite your face and I would recommend it be reconsidered. But I'm sure you don't care and no one is listening. Peace.

I am a streight woman, married to a guy in the Navy, with a kid. I am seriously on the outside looking in when it comes to gay rights. Here's the deal. If Barrack were to go around with, say, Perez, a known homosexual, the christian nation would more than likely blow up his car or something…now barack is running around with a homophobe, and the gays are lashing out, with less fierocity than the christians would. You don't ever hear of scandals AS BAD as when it is a homosexual scandal, but when it's with the same sex, it isn't QUITE so big of a deal (I know I know, there are scandals out there with men and woman, but look back on clinton…do you REALLY think it would have equalled non-impeachment if it had been with Frank Lewinski instead of Monica???).

What separates Obama from other candidates is is willingness to listen to all sides of any issue without compromising his own positions. He has done this on many other issues, why not gays and Lebisans. He chooses not to be divisive and show respect for both sides of many of the divisve social issues.
