We tend to prefer females and solo artists, so for us to be all about a male-fronted band….they have to be pretty special.

And Locksley are. They're amazing!

Though they may sound like they're from the U.K., this band is from Brooklyn (by way of Wisconsin). But their Beatles influence is undeniable.

Think of them like a new and better version of The Strokes.

Locksley are taking garage to a whole new level!

Their songs are super high energy, incredibly fun and totally infectious.

And none of them are longer than two minutes and forty seconds!

Our favorite song of theirs, She Does, doesn't even clock in at two minutes!

They've released their album themselves, without a record deal. Fuck the major labels! They are irrelevant nowadays.

Good music can still get out there!

I saw them open for Hanson in Dallas and they were pretty good. Not typically my style of music, but good. For the record, Hanson is pretty awesome themselves. Check them out Perez.

I saw her on a comcast show and bought her album after listening to her for about two minutes. Her voice is awesome - really clear and emotional, and her melodies have that cool haunting quality to them.

They sound like an average British Band, and there are hundreds of bands doing exactly the same thing here… That's actually a style which is a bit "tired" and been heard and heard and heard so much on this side of the pond… But if they can be signed and have some succes in the States, then jolly good for them!

If you like garage band rock, check out the Fratellis. They make these guys look like clowns. But, Perez is right, these guys are better than the Strokes…which isn't saying much.

Yes, yes, the same band who wrote mmmbop. But, as most people DON'T realize, the Hansons are now all grown up and they've NEVER stopped making music! They've grown and progressed and they can no longer be labeled as a "bubblegum pop boyband". Nope, it's all indie rock all the way And forget about not releasing music on major record labels- they BOUGHT their own independent record label at the ages of 17, 20, and 22 because they were so fed up with their previous label, Island Def Jam! So yeah, I highly, HIGHLY recommend checking out their new album The Walk, as well as their two previous studio albums, Underneath and This Time Around. They're truly incredible- not to mention inspiring with everything they are doing to help the cause of AIDS in Africa (visit their website Hanson.net for more info on that).
