Ay Dios mio!!!

News has just broken that Mexican pop star Paulina Rubio's request to become a U.S. resident was denied because required medical tests came back positive for drugs!!!!

Unfortunately for her, the singer, who spends a lot of time in Miami, won't legally be able to apply for residency again for another three years because her toxicology test came back positive for drugs.

Paulina tested positive for marijuana. Her husband, Nicolas Vallejo, tested positive for cocaine, ecstasy and marijuana.

I hate to be the party pooper, but they don't do a drug test when you apply for green card. They take blood and urine but they not for drug purposes. They do however test for HIV!

I live in Calgary, which is not quite as progressive as Vancouver. But everyone smokes. You can't buy it in stores, and it is "illegal," but odds are, if you're carrying a personal amount, it would just get confiscated. I haven't heard of busts here like I did in the States. They need to de-criminalize again, but they won't with pressue from America. Canada is #5 in the world for the most potsmokers, and I think #1 in the industrialized world.
It's cheaper than cigarettes ($10 a pack or more) and booze ($15 for a 6 pack) and so much better for you.
