Jive can't get the troubled pop star to cooperate with them, so they've stopped trying.
Spears is doing absolutely no promotion for her new album. There are no plans for a tour. No plans to do any media. No plans for anything!
"They can't get Britney to do anything!" a source close to the label and Spears tells the NY Daily News. "They did get her to do one photo-shoot for some promotional materials, but beyond that, they can't trust her to even show up. This album could've been so much bigger with Britney involved. What other reason would a pretty young girl, who was once very talented, throw her life and family away besides addication. Unfortunatly, as we saw with Anna Nicole, death will be knocking on her downstep very soon. Through Britney, we see the everyday experience of milllions of people who struggle with addiction and mental illness. What makes her different than other addicts is the media attention that surrounds her. While also highlighting her addication, it serves as a way for her to ignore and hide from her problem, thus perpetuating the drug/alcohol use. It is all so tragic and not only is she ruining her own life…but that of her entire family…including those babies. Sad sad sad. It seems that only death will save her now.
