Recently, U.S. actors Sean Penn and Kevin Spacey paid separate visits to the ogre.

it MAY seem like Chavez was DEMOCRATICALLY elected to the people outside this country, but it's not like that. we were cheated. more than once.

guess what.. we love it here too. it's not our country that we hate, it's the manipulative press and biased information that is disseminated that we hate. we have a deep dark history with Latin America, during which we wiped out governments that didn't agree with us to install our own "democracies". this led to dictatorships (as the people did not want their government overthrown so the democracies had to become tyrannic to control them) and brutal civil wars. but we learn in school that we were being "freedom fighters" and "liberators". and now, when shit hits the fan, the media corps try to make us believe it's their fault, not ours. get educated.

Oh come on, someone mentioned the "breaking the human rights in Cuba"… excuse me, but as far as I know the US is the great villain here! The situation in Latin America is so bad because of the US, thankfully it's starting to get better, thanks to great people like Hugo Chavez. USA is not perfect and it has many flaws as all countries. I have lived in USA and Venezuela both.

Chavez is taking advantage of humble people brainwashing them. We cannot find basic products such as oil, egg, milk, and so forth. He took power of all public powers. He gives credit to people that he knows they will not be able to pay back and he will take things from them. He is the owner of the country thanks to laws that he did himself with help. He nationalized public sevices such as water and light. He does not give us dollars to buy things abroad, we only have a cupo (a pitty limit to travel), he is not giving this cupos to many businesses just because he does not want to, he does not want any more hummers (you get them unless someone pays to someone inside the public organization). He is eating up all small businesses. Not long ago a person who came from Venezuela was found in Argentina with a suitcase with millions of dollars we all know that money is his. He always gives angry and hate messages to people who do not share his believes and calls traitors to people who were beside him and no longer are. Continue….

Wow… You have no idea about anything he's doing apparently. I want you to try and walk down a street in Venezuela without having the intense fear that you're about to be robbed. Please, don't speak about what he's doing for our country if you don't even live there. Chavez has not made ANYTHING better and you people are downright ignorant for thinking he has, he may say he cares about the working class but the situation is worse than ever. If you have a relatively nice car, you will probably have it stolen in a few weeks or months. Every week I hear about someone I know getting kidnapped… EVERY WEEK.

He spent BILLIONS of dollars buying ARGENTINA's debt (so they'll owe him one) but millions of Venezuelans live in poverty. I must say as a venezuelan second class citizen (because i dare to think different and of course i'm not agree with Chavez comunist goverment) that people is intrested in him because of the money we have, a paradox, considering that we have one of the most high poverty index.

since hugo chavez has been president there have been many, many communities built in the capitol alone for low income families. he given poor farmers land to work on and sustain their families. he makes it mandatory for med students to spend time in rural areas for volunteer work so that they show a commitment to the people and not $$$, the list goes on and on. who is he oppressing?? the rich? who is he supporting and representing. the people, the majority who have faught democratically to keep him as president.
