Christina Applegate's new ABC sitcom, Samantha Who?, is a hit!
The show is one of the few breakout programs of the new season and has already been picked up for a full season. In fact, Samantha Who? is the #1 new comedy in America.
This Monday's airing got an impressive 15.4 million viewers. Ratings for the show have gone up each week, a sure sign of a hit.
Applegate had kind of been floundering lately, with many failed TV shows.
This comeback could not have come at a better time for her!

i was just watching the second episode online yesterday and i found myself really hoping that the show would succeed! it's great! lots of dry, sarcastic humor which is increasingly difficult to find in today's dumbed-down sit-com. yay christina! love ya, dahling… (and she's looking really good, too!)

Good for her, she's a brilliant comic actress who punches WELL below her weight (Jessica Simpson pop video…?) There's a limited number of women in Hollywood who are so beautiful and funny and X-tina is DEFINITELY in the Aniston/ Cox/ Diaz gang.

I loved married with children, the TV show that made FOX and was historic, an antidote to the "Bill Cosby" Huckstables. However all her "ACTING" leaves me HO HUMM. I could be 100% wrong but she seems like an egomaniac jerk, but with her flat career, no one noticed. Her film's & failed sitcoms have been FLAT. She comes off as not genuine, like Jennifer Aniston. She should redo the SLUT Kelly. How about Married w/ Children 10 yrs later! Yes!

This show is absolutely hilarious and has a well rounded cast. Christina's biggest hit in ages. I still LOVE her form her "Don't tell mom the babysitters dead" ages. "I am right on top of that Rose"
According to IMDB she has only been on two television shows that were cancelled. There was Jesse which lasted two years and was also SEVEN years ago. Then she was in Father of the Pride, which was cancelled three years ago. She has had some movies that were flops, but that is true of most actor/actresses. Remember, she also took some time off from doing movies and television to star in "Sweet Charity" for which she garnered numerous award nominations. While the success of "Samantha Who" is somewhat a comeback for her it is more because she has been absent from TV not because she has experienced "many" failures on TV as you have stated. I realize it is tempting to overstate things in order to make the story more compelling, but it is somewhat irresponsible and ultimately not fair to the actress.
This show is hilarious! And Christina Applegate is a fantastic comedian…Kelly Bundy reigns supreme!
