Halle Berry Upsets Diabetics

Maybe it's the hormones from being pregnant, but Halle Berry has lost her mind.

The actress has been quoted saying that she was a Type 1 diabetic but now she has been able to ween herself off insulin to be a Type 2. SOMETHING THAT IS NOT POSSIBLE.

Pregnant HALLE BERRY is winning her battle with diabetes, thanks to a healthy diet and good living. The actress was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes after she passed out while shooting a TV show called Living Dolls when she first arrived in Hollywood. But the disease has now dropped to Type 2 diabetes because Berry is no longer "insulin dependent". She says, "I've managed to ween myself off insulin, so now I like to put myself in the Type 2 category."

Such an assertion is outraging many diabetics.

Type 1 diabetes means your pancreas is dead. It will never ever work again. You will always need insulin, unless there is a cure.

Type 2 means your pancreas is not dead. It still has life and with proper diet you can live without being on insulin.

No matter how much weight you lose or what you cut out of you diet, you can not change Type 1 diabetes, which is what Berry claims she's been able to do.

"If you come off insulin, then you were always a Type 2," a medical expert tells PerezHilton.com. "She is feeding into all the confusion in the world."

What a fucking idiot. I was so impressed with her on her control of diabetes and have used her as an example when talking to young girls just diagnosed with the diease, but not anymore.

Between this and the Jewish nose comment, Halle is fast becoming the new Rosie O'Donnell: she lets ridiculousness spew from her mouth without knowing what the hell she's talking about. But because most people don't listen to Halle: they just stare at her chest, I'm sure she'll get away with it.

  13. jeena says – reply to this

yeah, we should Totally crucify the bitch cause she made a mistake!

  14. Steph says – reply to this

She's been saying this FOR YEARS! She followed a program that costs a bajillion dollars to go through and they claim to "cure" the diabetes.

  16. wtf? says – reply to this

so, she's human and doesn't know everything about everything.
wtf is so wrong with that.
    correct her and move on.
no need to crucify her or anything.

  17. tg says – reply to this

LOL, well your expert is wrong Perez, it is entirely possible and there are many people who have done this. Medical "experts" know very little about alternative healing methods, and are closed off. You can absolutely heal your pancreas.

  18. JJ says – reply to this

your pancreas isn't dead if you're a type 1 diabetic; you just lose the cells that produce insulin. Otherwise your pancreas is still functioning.

  19. Eva says – reply to this

Well that just shows the ignorence of Ms. Berry..
Maybe the Diabetes was caused by her pregnancy?
I have got type 1 diabetes myself and get frustrated all the time by people not knowing the difference… As a celebrity, shoudn't she be some kind of rolemodel?

  20. P.Viktor says – reply to this

This story is SOOOO factually incorrect! You can actually be misdiagnosed as a type 1 when in fact you are type 2, and it can take many many years to dicover it - in fact you can go your whole life being type 1 only for doctors to realise you are type 2. Diabetes DOES NOT MEAN your pancreas is dead. It means that it doesn't work as well, and can in fact suddenly produce insulin. As a type 1 diabetic I know that you can decrease your insulin to a very insignificant amount and control diabetes by exercise and diet.

Also - the medical profession themselves are the first to admit that they still don't know a lot about diabetes, and that in fact the disease is changing all the time (for example, the discover that Alzheimer's might infact be a type 3 diabetes). PLEASE do your homework before you condemn someone who has taken a long-term disease into their own hands. Go Halle!

  21. Lyla says – reply to this

She has baby brain, happens when ur pregnant

  22. zippy says – reply to this

It's not like we ever thought Halle was very smart. She's just a smokin hot woman with fantastic tits and good tight ass, just built for lovin.

  23. meia says – reply to this

Perez, you're an idiot and you know shit about diabetes (and not much else for that matter).
YES it is possible to cure (or 'cure' as some might say) it.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with what Halle said.

  24. Likewhuoa says – reply to this

    OMG IM FIRST!!!!

  25. cheri says – reply to this

Oh yes you can……clinical studies with injections of stem cells into the pancreas have "cured" many insulin dependent diabetics in the clinical trial arena. Unfortuantely, it will take several more years before such is available to the public without involvement in a controlled clinical trial setting.

  26. Netjryt says – reply to this

Oh dear…another celeb self diagnosing. Halle may not know the difference between Type I and II. Perhaps she should give Brett Michaels a call and he can explain it to her. Or, hey! how about a Doctor.

  27. Idiot says – reply to this

She is a moron. Sometimes Type 2 diabetics must be on insulin and can in fact come off. I have a BS in Nutrition and even I know turning from a type 1 to a type 2 is impossible.

  28. rypy says – reply to this

Can I just say though - she's not been quoted as SAYING she was Type 1 - it's just the magazine saying that's what she was diagnosed as, which obviously must be false if she is now off insulin.

  29. samantha1373 says – reply to this

I'm no experct by ANY means, but when I was pregnant I had gestational diabeties and took insulin, and now after the fact i have what they call border lien diabeties, maybe she had adult diabeties and now that she eats better or something she doesnt' need insulin, b/c I dont need insulin to control mine btu I do however need to eat right (and i'm not over weight i'm decently thing) a lot of peopel get the type i have b/c in their youth they dotn eat right and maybe dont eat more than one or 2 meals a day so your insulin stops producign at teh proper rate which makes you border line diabetic and makes it so you have to eat small meals a day! but i knwo peopel who need insulin adn they woudl die without it, maybe they gave her insulin before to keep her skinny@

  30. Nancy says – reply to this

Years ago she said she went to a chinese doctor. He made he take herbs for a couple of years and then she stopped using insulin. I believe it as i know someone who was sent home to die, and chinese medicine cured them. Sometimes science isn't the only way.

  31. duh! says – reply to this

Anyone stop to think that she may not realize that she's wrong? Perhaps she is confused on the subject or something.

But no, we can't give the benefit of the doubt. We must automatically become "outraged." Jesus fu**ing Christ people! Give these people a break!

  32. tal says – reply to this

dear perez…have you heard of healing through the power of the mind?visualization? positive thinking?
    all the power to her!!!!!!!

  33. crotchrocket says – reply to this

    Re: gobritweloveyou

If you love her then go suck her ass or jackoff to her pics..no one wants to see pics of an unfit mother/drunk..need I go on….

Halley already looks like a fatass..look at those huge legs of hers..she's going to look like that ugly spears when she has that baby..baby's make people's face, hair, and body ruined for life.

  34. Idiot says – reply to this

And perez, you are a morn, the pancreas is not DEAD when you have type one. It just doesn't produce the cells that make insulin. Either beta cell production is completely not going on or a very limited abount that won't sustain life is happening. Get your facts stright you retarded gorrilla.

  35. dmom says – reply to this

As a mother of a Type 1 Diabetic I want the thank you perez for saying this. We are outraged by her statements. She is only perpetuating the misconceptions we live with every day. If it was as easy as weening our children off of insulin - don't you think all of us parents of diabetic kids would have done so A LONG time ago?

  36. Being Dumb is a Disease says – reply to this

Just goes to show how sensitive people can be! Why get upset with her, maybe she was mis-diagnosed as a type 1 when she has always been a type 2! Oh boo hoo to those who feel upset over this.

  37. PEREZ IS A FAT DIABETIC says – reply to this

You're just pissed because you got diagnosed with type 2 when you got so fucking fat.

  38. =^..^= says – reply to this

There are so many natural cures out there but the medical BUSINESS doesn't want to CURE anyone because if they cured anyone, they wouldn't be making BILLIONS of dollars every fucking year. Just because she is a smart woman doesnt mean you should drag her name through the mud.

  39. DMom says – reply to this

Perez I'm so proud of you!!! FINALLY- someone that prints something correctly about Diabetes. The damn media can't get the difference between Type 1 and Type 2- except you :) .
This over paid star needs a good kick in the head. If she's going to SCREW UP this badly understanding what disease she actually has, I wish she'd get her damn ugly face away from promoting any kind of awareness for D. She's done more harm for my 6 year old daughter, than she'll ever know.
Maybe if her child is diagnosed with Type 1, ONLY THEN will she understand!
I will NEVER EVER see anything she ever shows her ugly face in AGAIN!!!

  42. k2 says – reply to this

OK - I'm a type 1 and have been since I was 8, AND THERE IS NO WAY YOU CAN JUST SWITCH TYPE 1 ON AND OFF! Once a type 1 always a type 1. Not only is she adding to the confusion between both diseases and seriously doing damage to type 1's who have yet to accept their disease, but it's a slap in the face to all those type 1's who work their asses off with exercise, diet, and WHO ALWAYS TAKE THEIR INSULIN IN ORDER TO ACTUALLY YOU KNOW - LIVE.
Type 1's can't just decide not to take insulin, no matter what their exercise and diet routine is, because they will DIE if they don't take insulin. TYPE 1"s DON'T MAKE INSULIN. Get your facts straight bitch and stop spreading false info. You are seriously causing harm and sounding like a jackass in the process! PS TYPE 2 Diabetes is usually associated with those who are insulin resistant. Insulin Resistance is usually caused by being overweight, participating in little to no exercise, poor eating habits, and genetics. She's a moron!

  43. sdmom says – reply to this

this is so disappointing and honestly, i'm feeling rather infuriated!! my daughter, now 7, has been a type 1 diabetic since she was 3-1/2 years old. i always wondered why the seemingly lovely halle berry has not used her status to her advantage, and the advantage of millions, to speak up about diabetes. i realize now that is for the best. the things my daughter has to endure is nothing that anyone should have to do. we are so grateful that this disease is something that can be maintained, but in order to do that it take so much planning and vigilance, 24/7. as a matter of fact, i have decided to pursue a nursing degree just because of all that we have been through because of this truly horrible disease. and halle berry is doing what? weaning herself? wtf? without insulin, she would be dead. no question. thanks for nothing halle. i really hope that there is some sort of error in this report. it's heartbreaking.

  44. johnnyboy says – reply to this

sorry but diabetus is only mental disease. you can easily overcome it with right kind of medication and most imporantly the RIGHT ATTITUDE!!!!!

    Please dont lie perez!!!!!

  45. kori says – reply to this

    WHO FUCKING CARES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  46. kymama says – reply to this

i am a nurse and you are 100% right. once a type 1 ALWAYS a type 1. it deosn't go away. halle is a moron. and who the FUCK in their stupid right mind says shit in their THIRD MONTH OF PREGNANCY like, "i can't wait to have another one already!!!" jesus christ, WAIT till you are fucking SLEEP DEPRIVED and your TITS are KILLING you and your NIPPLES are CRACKED AND BLEEDING and your crotch gets RIPPED IN HALF before you open your stupid fucking hollywood mouth and spew your retarded bullshit in the world. DUMB ASS BITCH!
but i loved her in monster's ball. MAKE ME FEEL GOOD.

  47. sdmom says – reply to this

re: BEING DUMB IS A DISEASE… i see you are self-diagnosing

  48. bosie says – reply to this

    A friend of did…
he was insullin depend for 6 years and from one moment to another i didnt need anymore, thanks a special diet too…
    it´s possible…
    kiss to u dear perez

  49. Megan says – reply to this

Actually, it is possible in some circumstances to get off insulin if you're a type 1 diabetic. My aunt was type 1 for years, and about a year or so after she had bariatric weightloss surgery, she was able to get off insulin. Now, I don't know if that would now qualify her as a type 2, but she's able to regulate her diabetes through medication and regular monitoring of her blood sugar.

  50. Not surprised says – reply to this

This is sad, in that she has so little understanding of her own condition, but not especially surprising. A report last year indicated that the average American has a "health literacy"–understanding of general health information–on par with what is taught in 3rd grade.

Diet and exercise *are* excellent ways to control diabetes, and can allow a diabetic to stop taking insulin. Labeling them "insulin-dependent" and "non-insulin-dependent" is confusing, as some people with Type 2 do take insulin, as it sounds like is the case with HB. "Type I" and "Type II" are fairly recently coined terms…she probably heard them used, saw that "type I" is "insulin dependent" and assumed that was what she had. This is what happens when people get their medical information from popular media instead of their doctors or real medical publications. They get things in easy to swallow little pieces and miss the big picture.

  51. DunDunDun says – reply to this

    haha… i have diabetes… type 1… since i was six…. i for one am not outraged… thats silly. haha.

  52. xtofer says – reply to this

I love you Perez, but you're wrong on this. Your pancreas doesn't "die" in Type 1. Please don't use your site to spin false information. Please!

  53. sandiegored says – reply to this

For the love of God Perez! If a diabetics pancreas was dead they would be deae, you can not live without a pancreas dumbass! In type one diabetes the beta cells are not functioning.

  54. Hooha says – reply to this

Who is your medical expert Perez, Dr. Dre?

  55. jp says – reply to this

that was one of the dembest things i've ever heard a "smart" person say. why would she come out and say something so stupid to get herself in trouble.

  56. STFU says – reply to this

Re: DMom – Get over it and STFU. Wow, you are one angry individual!!

  57. Jenny says – reply to this

So yes she is so wrong. You can't just wake up one day and be cured of type 1. However Perez you also need to get your facts straight. Your Pancreas is NOT DEAD!!! To say that perez you sound just like halle berry. In people with type 1 diabetes, the pancreas no longer makes insulin. The beta cells have been destroyed.

  58. Being Dumb is a Disease says – reply to this

Re: sdmom – Actually I'm very EDUCATED, the name is more aimed at the dummies who post ridiculous things on these blogs. Are you her doctor…then you don't know what is going on with her body. If she is incorrect let her be incorrect its here body. Why would you be offended about what someone says about their health. I'm sure its plenty of people who think they have been cured of something, and that might not be the case.

  59. trippinfrizzanco says – reply to this

Not only is she selfish and stupid but oh my God so ignorant!!!!!!!!!!
I ´ve been a type I diabetic since I was 12 and to think that Ms. Berry was a visible role model for diabetics ….please some one take away her oscarrrrr

  60. ma says – reply to this

can't change your genes with diet! Type 1 is an autoimmune disease with a damaging antibody…type 2 is a metabolic disorder. Type 1 requires a gene with a change and an environmental trigger to create the antibody that does in the B cells. We cannot regenerate B cells at this time. First one to fix type 1 gets a Nobel Prize in medicine and HUGE $$$$$! That is why we like fetal stem cells…also other diseases ride with type 1 like Celiac Disease and thyroid…

  61. not important says – reply to this

I don't think this is something to be upset about. Most of us who have Type I Diabetes are well versed in how it works. Type II is an entirely different monster. She was obviously not educated properly about her desease.

OH… and with Type I your pancreas is NOT dead. It still performs other bodily functions. It just does not produce the hormone insulin.

  62. Julie says – reply to this

you're wrong perez. type 1 diabetes means that your pancreas is not producing enough insulin. It is not dead. It still works and produces other enzymes like glucagon. It is possible to not need as much insulin by eating foods with a low glycemic index such as beans and many fruits and vegetables so the sugar is absorbed more slowly into the blood stream and the low levels of insulin that your pancreas does produce can manage your glucose intake.

  63. Darsa says – reply to this

She's human, we all make mistakes, but it is crucial to note that yes you are correct that Type 1 cannot be cured. As one myself I do still look up to the progress she has made with her disease, whether she is Type 1 or 2, truly doesn't matter. She obviously is healthy and ready to take on the exhausting challenge of being a mother.

  64. MICHELLE says – reply to this

As a parent of a type 1, I appreciate this.

  65. Erin says – reply to this

Isn't she pregnant???? I thought she was…but if she is…it is possible for the baby to produce enough insulin for the both of them when the baby is capable of making it.

  66. Vanessa says – reply to this

I have type 1 (juvenile) diabetes.

Type 1 basically means your pancreas does not work for unknown reason. It has little to do with your diet and excercise before you are diagnosed. I was healthy and had a healthy diet before I knew I had diabetes.

basically, you have it for a random "unknown" reason.

Type 2 means due to poor diet and lack of excerise you "break" your pancreas due to too much strain.

  67. holly jo says – reply to this

i have type 1 and no it can be cured… i wish!

  68. Jane says – reply to this

My mother has Type 1 diabetes and controls it entirely with diet. When she was pregnant with me, she did the same.

  69. LDH says – reply to this

kymama there is no way you are nurse. No self respecting nurse would talk like that. I sure hope you talk to you patients better than you blog. PS I am an RN and am sticking up for nurses to let others know not all talk or write like you.

  70. Tia says – reply to this

Actually you can be dependant on insulin for years and be able to come off. I'm a RN and have seen it done before, its not very common but it does happen.

  71. metoo says – reply to this

Seriously? Is this worthy of your nasty comments. It is possible she could have been misdiagnosed all those years ago. Our health care technology has improved over the past 2 decades.

  72. sara says – reply to this

if the diabetic community is looking to her for knowledge about the disease and are then outraged, the diabetic communitcy are FUCKING RETARTED. They should already know this shit!

  73. erin says – reply to this

It is absolutly possible!! Never say never. My mom was on insulin for many years, but thankfully she no longer needs to take it. She is still diabetic, but no longer dependant on 4 injections or however much injections daily.

  74. J. says – reply to this

She not only was quoted as saying this for the magazine, but she said this on Bravo's Inside The Actor's Studio. Straight from her own mouth! Perez your medical facts are some what incorrect, but the point is there. Halle is dumb.

  75. Jamie says – reply to this

You are correct Perez, many people don't understand the difference between type 1 and 2 diabetes. Once diagnosed with type 1, you are insulin dependent for the rest of you life, there is no switching back. Some type 2 diabetics use insulin, but with type 2 diabetes you can control your blood sugar levels with proper exercise and diet, preventing the need for insulin shots. There are some procedures such as islet cell transplants that have shown some possitive results for type 1, but there is still no cure. If Haley has figured out some miracle that switch her to a type 2 diabetec, she should share her story with health care providers through out the U.S. I'm sure the millions of people diagnosed with this terrible condition would love to hear how she did it.

  76. thats_right says – reply to this

WoW Perez I didn't know you were a doctor lol :) But really she lost her mind she has beauty I agree but when she opens her mouth her beauty disappears and her stupidity comes out.

  77. Mary says – reply to this

I truly hope my daughter, who has been a T1 since the age of 19 months, doesn't hear about this and think she can "ween herself off her insulin". I used to use Halle as an inspiration to my daughter - what a freakin moron.

  78. erin says – reply to this

To the diabetics out there, who are absoultuly 'POSITIVE' its impossible. Its not. My mom was on insulin since I was a young girl, and around a year and a half ago, the doctors had to keep lowering the amount she had to inject because it was making her body wonky… and eventually she just had to stop. Its not certain if she will ever have to go back on insulin, but for now… she just takes her metforman with every meal. For those who dont believe me, thats OK, because anything is possible. I know what's happened to my mom, and honestly dont care if anyone casts any doubt on it.

  79. ma says – reply to this

Re: Julie – Acually Julie, most type 1's do not make ANY insulin…and some have very little ability to produce glucagon as well and must inject blended insulins to protect from repeat lows. Fruit is a sugar too LOL, and will give a high just as fast as frosting to a type 1. I use oranges to give me bounce up when I need it cause it works so darn fast!

  80. hollywoodkid says – reply to this

I studied nursing so just like you wrote type 1 can not be cured. ask a doctor an they will tell you the same. you would think she would study up on her own illness.

  81. kat says – reply to this

and this is why we have words like ignorant in the dictionary. jesus christ how stupid can you be, halle? how's a bout this - "i used to have the aids, but i'm so awesome that now i've conquered it and it's been downgraded to a norovirus." DERRRRR

  82. sheila says – reply to this

she is dumbier thanshe looks! chocolate barbie is all wrong.. my son has type 1 diabtes since age 2 he is now 14 and very healthy but unfortunately his pancreas doesn't work…can't wait to see the prize she delivers!!!

  83. Mike says – reply to this

Holy shit, y'all are fucking dumb. Halle did not "make a mistake." She's been living with diabetes for YEARS now and wouldn't say she got rid of Type 1 unless she was fucking nuts. Anyone in here who thinks you can "heal" the pancreas of a Type 1 diabetic is absolutely dumb as a brick.

But what would I know, I don't have a Type 1 diabetic child or anything…

  84. Another Mom says – reply to this

Re: tg – You are the one who is wrong - try having Type 1 diabetes where there IS NO FUCKING CURE…I wish stupid people would do a little fing research beofre making stupid comments. If there was cure, no mountain on earth would stop me from getting it for my kid. So you are just as stupid as she is!Re: johnnyboy – You are just a f*ing idiot!!! How were you even smart enough to hit the respond button….

  85. momofatype1 says – reply to this

So big whoop, Perez said your pancreas is dead and yall are focusing on that. Why not focus on what a fucking idiot Halle Berry is-type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease requiring insulin to live. You can't wean yourself off of it-well you could and die. I'm into natural medicine-but this is one thing you don't mess with. So you conspiracy theorists shut up or you could eat a slice of humble pie someday since more and more people are being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes into adulthood. Maybe she is a diabulemic and is taking less insulin to lose weight-wouldn't suprise me.
My son has type 1, and I already have the whacko noni juice people after me, or people thinking I am making this all up-now I have idiots that take the word of a celebritard as the gospel and will question when I'm going to wean my son off of insulin-like that's a choice.

  86. Em says – reply to this

PEOPLE! She said she CONSIDERS herself a Type 2 now. Doesn't mean she's CURED herself!!! FUCK. Give her a break. Through proper diet and nutrition you CAN control diabetes. My grandpa did it for years and though he had Type 1 diabetes he used insulin pretty infrequently for a long time because of his lifestyle. IT IS POSSIBLE! Stop being so effing judgemental.

  87. ma says – reply to this

Re: erin – Ok, no….your mom needs to know that if she was really a type 1 then she is at risk for other AUTOIMMUNE diseases….and so are you and other birth family members. If she was a misdiagnosed type 2, or an INSULIN dependent type 2, then she has/had a metobolic diseae. NO person with type 1 gets help from Metformin EVER because it doesn't regulate what is NOT there….she needs a better doctor, mine is the head of Gonda Diabetes center at UCLA, they are very good with both diseases and all associated dosorders. You should make an appointment soon. She may need to have her thyroid checked, as well as her bone density.

  88. Lola says – reply to this

All of you are ignorant. Google for RAW FOR 30. Perez…you really have sunk to a new low.

  89. Momofgirls says – reply to this

Thank you for posting this. I am angry with this excuse for a woman. My daughter is 11 and has Type 1 diabetes. Someone try explaining to her why I cannot "cure" her diabetes like Halle did :-( Every time we saw a movie with her in it my daughter was excited. Halle is banned from our TV screen now. she has done more damage than she could ever imagine.

  90. Casey says – reply to this

My 22 year old brother has type 1 diabetes….so…

She wishes she was type 2!!!!!!!!1

  91. Biology Nerd says – reply to this

She must have had type 2 all along… type 1 your body attacks the beta cells… an auto immune issue… type 2 you have beta cells but they get burned out by WEIGHT issues…. it is impossible to A. ween yourself off insulin because your body has destoryed all the beta cells and your body has seen them as an intruder and has gone after them and you have no insulin at all…… and B. type 2 you have some left but they are being destroyed… type two still make insulin… by rely on pills like Metformin and not insulin.

The insulin has to come from somewhere! somebody somewhere doesn't have their information straight.

  92. HiC says – reply to this

Why are we assuming that celebrities EVER know what they're talking about? Just cause they are in the media doesn't mean they know anything. Although, I think if I were her, I would want to know more about my own medical condition.

  93. Siobhan says – reply to this

Halle been fucking nuts!!!!!! She was always a type 2 diabetic.

  94. Sara G. says – reply to this

why are all you strokejobs so insulted? maybe she was misdiagnosed. who cares, anyway?

  95. jENNIFER says – reply to this

  96. Sarah says – reply to this

Well, I have type one diabetes… but I'm not "upset" with her. I'll feel sorry for her when she goes blind though.

  97. TD says – reply to this

Being a type 1 diabetic myself, I find her comments irresponsible. She is giving hope to young diabetics who admire her as a role model because of the way in which she has handled her diabetes. If you are a type 1 diabetic and do not take your insulin YOU WILL DIE. Shame on you Halle, shame on you!

perez you are a complete fuck head……….consult with a DR prior to posting bullship health advice on your site. Halle is correct. My mother had to use insulin, once we were able to get her on a proper diet and excerise she no longer needs it. Dip shit!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you, thank you , thank you for posting about this.

My son is 5 and was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when he was 3 years old. There are already enough stereotypes about diabetes without Halle adding insult to injury.

If she weaned herself off insulin and is Type 1, then I'd love to know her secret. Any other Type 1 that weaned themself off of insulin would be dead a couple of days later.

This doesn't actually upset me that much. I go to Queen's University, and I still rarely understand exactly what my doctor is talking about. Halle seems like a relatively smart woman, but she's never been to med school. And some doctors are really terrible with bedside manner and feed you with a bunch of medical jargon that doesn't make sense to most of the population. Give the girl a break, I'm sure she didn't intentionally lie about her diabetes.
