Oh, shit. There's some serious backpedaling going on!

Even though sources close to him claim that he has been trying to sell a reality TV show, Michael Lohan is denying that he is.

Daddy doesn't wanna piss off Lindsay!

"No way," says Michael. "I am definitely not looking for my own reality show. That's Dina's thing and I've got my own thing."

How then, does he explain this clip that made its way onto YouTube, a pitch tape for his purported reality show????

"That tape was pirated from me and then spliced together with a title that made it look like some show I was putting together," he says. "Some of it's footage for my ministry's promotional campaign, and some of it is just other stuff thrown in, like me going to court, but most of that footage was actually for a promotional video I was doing for Teen Challenge."

Now that the former addict and convict is out of jail, he's born-again and working as a minister. Daddy Lohan is on team Jesus and wants to spread the love!

Michael says he has his suspicions on who may have taken his tapes, "But I can't say for sure right now," he adds. "It's something I'm certainly looking into and I'll see what recourse I can take after that. You can count on that."

Trying to do damage control as quickly as possible, after we posted the clip on PerezHilton.com, Michael immediately called Lindsay, letting her know that there is no reality show in the works for him.

"I told her no way, that's not where my life is right now," he says. "My life's work is with Teen Challenge and doing things that bring me closer to my family."

Poppa Lohan does admit to trying to hawk a reality show back in 2004, though.

"It was called The Lowdown and was supposed to be a kind of anti-tabloid talk show," Lohan says. "That was back when I was getting beat up on a lot in the press and by Dina's people, and I didn't feel like I had a way to present my side. But that's over. I've let all of that go. I have bigger things to focus on now."

Bummer. We would have loved for Dina and Michael to go head-to-head with competing reality TV shows.

Why'd you have to get in the way of that, Jesus??!!!????
