Wednesday night, racist Dog The Bounty Hunter went on Larry King Live to continue his cold and calculated apology tour.
Now, the victim of his racist rant caught on tape, Monique Shinnery, who is dating his son, is going to sue Dog for slandering her (among other things), the National Enquirer is reporting.
"She’s had enough," says the mag. "He attacked her character and as she points out (and he now admits) he’s never met her or spoken to her. He has accused her of things that never happened and caused her a lot of pain."
Hmmmm. Interesting.
Can you sue someone for slandering them in private????

let me go out on a limb here and say enough is enough. this was he private life that got spilled into the mainstream. imus said his racist thing on the job. I am not a Dog fan, but after hearing the tapes and watching CNN last night, in all honesty, isn't that bad compared to what Bill O Rielly and Pat Robertson are paid to say on a daily basis. In context, it really wasn't racist (that being said, I did major in race and ethnic relations in college, so I'm usually the first to jump on stuff like this).

I think people should not watch the channel that his show was on, as a protest. Its wrong that his show was pulled and life ruined for saying BAD words in the privacy of his home. We have all said things that we wouldn't want others to hear especially when angered…..This kind of thing will happen over and over unless the public is less apathetic.
Actually an interesting question. Slander is a lie published to another that damages your reputation. So if Dog made the derogatory comments to his son, but his son did not change his opinion of the women, then no slander. The re-publication by the son selling the statements might actually be the slander here.
His son should be sued, he is the one who made it public. I don't think it is slander when it is a private conversation.

If you say "I heard that he…" or "I think he…" it's not slander. But if you say, "He did this…" then it is.
