Though she claims the network was pissed that she "let it slip" early, the real reason Rosie O'Donnell ended talks with MSNBC for a new show is over money.
"The network couldn’t afford to make a deal for Rosie just based on a nighttime show," reports Fox News. "It would have to have been tied into something else on daytime. The problem with that? O’Donnell doesn’t want to return to a grueling daytime schedule while her kids are in school."
Rosie is also said to be reluctant to sign a deal longer than one year.
Hey, if you wanna play in the corporate world, you gotta play by their rules.
But Rosie doesn't have to! She can just do a show on the Internets!

I just love Rosie and would love any show she will do. I feel sad about the men in suits dictating what can be said all the time. She is a wonderful kind person. Actually, the Fox article was on the whole a very supportive one. It is lame to emphasize the breakdown of negotiations because of the money, though. I understand completely why Rosie would like to be home for her kids when they come home after school, and she's sticking to her guns about a one year contract, virtually unheard of in T.V. Land. I hope she is able to find something that will showcase her kindness and compassion…I don't think an evening news show is the best fit. A focus on comedy, her greatest talent, is something that would be very appreciated by her fans and admirers.
