Owen Wilson attended the Guggenheim International Gala in NYC on Thursday night.

The actor, who was hospitalized for an attempted suicide just a few months ago, was seen hitting up the hotspots in Manhattan since he arrived last week.

He's been spotted at the Waverly Inn and the Rose Bar.

Rumored new girlfriend Jessica Simpson was not with Wilson at the Guggenheim gala. She's not that into art. But she does love poetry!

Whatever happened to that book of poetry and photography that Jessica wanted to release???

      I hope Jessica is very careful, and sensitive when it comes time to dump Owen. He doesn't do break-ups well. Maybe they'll just happen to be walking by the psych ward when she tells him "it's not you, it's me" or "let's just be friends".

      Re: Cassie – You are SO right - whatever meds they've got him on - it's sad…If he needs to be kept that medicated so as not to hurt himself again, shouldn't he be in a hospital or at least a rehab? Also, I don't believe the story about him doing it for Kate. That's PR trying to spin things away from drugs and depression and preserve his status as a sensitive and romantic leading man. Sigh.       I think that he looks well here. You have to remember that he's still recovering as well. He isn't going to be back to his old self overnight. And the best way to get well is slowly and steadily which is more effective in the long term.

      What do you guys think he should be doing after his suicide attempt….you have to attept to put you life back together and go on…not dwell on about what drove you to the pits of despair in the 1st place…would you like him to try and kill himself again people…let him get out and get on with his life people….that is what you need to do after stuff like this happens…you can't sit there and dwell on it and hide in your house and think about what you did…idiots

      He looks far more relaxed and human than he did a few months ago. He doesn't have that frantic look in his eyes. Hope he has made it through everything okay. If that is him on medication, then so be it. That's why meds were invented- to help people or try to, at any rate. He looks normal now. And that is a GOOD thing.

      He does look quite well especially if you compare to how he looks in other recent pictures. For some reason like someone posted above people seem to think that he be back to his old self over night. He's still recovering and no doubt still on medication to help him which is good. But it's going to take time he's not going to look his best less then 3 months after the event took place.

      When are people going to learn??? Depression, alcoholism, drug addiction is the result of a metabolic disturbance!! Medication may get you somewhat stablized (see pic above) but it NEVER EVER HEALS. He just needs time..WTF? All the time in the world will not heal an illness without getting to the root cause and HEALING it. And rehab….most people don't realize the success rate is around 10%. Good for him for not going. I'd bet all my pennies this guy has pyroluria and gluten/casein/whey intolerances. God bless Owen.

Either Kate's people are trying to keep her name in the headlines or Owen's people are trying to take the focus off of the drugs (probably the latter).
