Melissa Etheridge's wife, actress Tammy Lynne Michaels, has taken to her blog to speak out for the first time ever about the years of abuse she suffered as a child.

It's a very moving account.

Hopefully Tammy's words can lend comfort to other victims and encourage them to speak out.

I have a lot of lesbian and gay friends, and slmost every one has been molested when they are kids. I'm pretty sure that's why people become gay and/or lesbian. I really feel sorry for Tammy and all them mokestation that the homesexuals have to deal with when they are children. Hopefully her writing about this will bring comfort.

Tammy was after Melissa for her money and fame. Tammy wanted fame for herself, didn't get it so she latched on to someone who did. Doesn't want to lose her little bit of noteriety so she has become "the voice" behind Melissa. I am surprised Melissa puts up with it but ME appears to be on the subserviant side which allows someone like tammy to wrap her around her little finger.

Yeah. Honestly, the whole, "Where does gay come from?" question has got absolutely nothing to do with me. I am fascinated by this issue only because the two camps seem to have so much invested personally in the argument. The fact that the two sides go so nasty so quickly whenever the question arises tells me that BOTH positions are pretty weak, that they are substantiated by nothing at all.
I'd sure like to see some real, refereed, peer-reviewed research on all of this, but, to date, there hasn't been any conducted. All attempts thus far have been woefully and plainly tainted by the 'researchers” pre-existing agendas, and use pretty questionable 'science,' besides.
There is one thing I know for sure, though: Screaming, "Childhood abuse doesn't affect sexual orientation in adulthood!!" doesn't make that position the truth any more than screaming the opposite does.

Most kids who are abused end up being straight. Most people who abuse are straight men. The majority of children get abused at some point in their lives. I blame it on parents who leave their little daughters with family members, let male family members give your daughters baths or watch them when you are not home. Straight men are the worst kind. They will fuck anything. Even a kid. I say let's send them to fry in the electric chair. Hey George Bush: spend mor emoney finding child molestors then killing Iraqis you pig! Wake up people! Most kids get abused at home and by someone they know. it 's a fact and it is scary. Most girls don't grow up to be Lesbians after they are molested - they grow up to be overeaters, women in abusive relationships with their men or drug addicts.

childhood abuse is the worst. it is worse than murder in my opinion because with murder there is no scars left behind but child abuse leaves an scar for the rest of the person's life. that is why i think child molesters and pedophiles should be killed immediately or hanged or killed with lethal injection. because that is the only way to counter this evil. until the current lax laws are in place, this evil won't go away.

I wasn't molested but I have been in a couple of abusive relationships. I'm a fighter because I'm not used to being mistreated and I didn't stick around either. I think child molesters should be executed. There's no cure for it. That would end the cycle of abuse.
