What Not To Do In A Divorce

mx0005437.jpg

Paul McCartney's estranged wife, Heather "Golddigger" Mills has dumped her high-priced divorce attorneys at Mischon de Reya in London. The former titty model claims she can no longer afford them as their bitter divorce drags on with no resolution in sight.

Mills, it is claimed, has already had to take out over $3 million in loans to pay for her legals fees.

And, here's the best part…..

In an attempt to save money, not only has Heather fired her lawyers, but….she's also going to represent herself in court!

This is the second big departure in Mills' camp.

Heather's publicist dumped her two weeks ago, just before she began her crazy media crusade.

Her new spokesperson, Michele Elyzabeth confirmed that Mills would be representing herself in court from now on, stating:

"It was agreed between them both that she would suspend her representation from the firm due to financial reasons and that she was perfectly capable of successfully representing herself in court, as she has done on a number of occasions regarding other matters."

Brilliant idea, Heather.

Go for it!

Good. Then Paul will win and that will be that. Only a fool represents himself in court.

She who defends herself in court has a fool for a lawyer. In a case where the stakes are absolutely HUGE - not just monetarily, but in terms of custody, visitation issues and other aspects of Paul and Heather's future as parents to poor little Bea - there is just too much to lose. This woman needs a lawyer, and also a doctor - perhaps she and Britney can get together on this. (Group rate, anybody?)

With a regular lawyer in the US divorces normally require a $15,000 retainer and then $400 per hour for hours and hours of work. Many people end up representing themselves in divorce court, because it's a very expensive process. However, in a case with that many assets at stake, it isn't wise to represent yourself b/c the issues are way too complex for a lay person.

I feel sorry for her … Paul certainly is making sure that she is the one getting all the bad publicity, whereas he is seen in a more favourable light.

On a side note, I still hate her for picking on poor-as-dirt Newfoundlanders.

As a former judge, it is extremely annoying when a person thinks they are knowledgeable & clever enough to represent themselves (we study for 7+yrs). It takes up a great deal of the courts time to walk them through procedural issues. I am not speaking of those who cannot afford an attorney. But those who cant KEEP a lawyer that can stomach their shit is a completely different story.

Her mega legal bill shows how many billable hours Heather has bitched and moaned to her lawyer (at $400/hr). BUT there comes a point if your client refuses to listen and can possibly ruin the case with their fat troll hole, that you need to cut and run rather than ruin the firm's reputation. Ask Britney.

Try finding a judge or jury that sympathizes with a perceived greedy unstable whore who turned down a pissload of cash to roll the dice that she can make more money from a book selling out her famous ex.

She would have a hell of a time finding another reputable firm to represent her now. Sign the release, Heather, and go away.

Heather is about to depart this life which will be convenient for Paul and gets to keep what little gold he had to give out. He'll be a skinflint to whoever he's with.
Only advice is she should get advice from a charitible lawyer or the law system (the judge) and wait and see.
